Manager of Legends events n' more gave detail idea of Sports Carnival to be
held on 24, 25 26 January 2009 at International Centre Goa, Dona Paula
will be organized by Taleigao Chess Academy, International Centre Goa,
Legends events n' more in association other NGO's
Shri Pratap Singh Rane said in his ingural speech it is good to attend such
kind of seminar, in 2011 we are going to host National Games and this type
of seminars will generate awareness in associations
In key note speech Shri Vasant Prabhudesai, Ex. Director Sports Authority of
Goa(SAG) said there sold be transparency in the association in his long
speech he denoted that every association should give equal representation to
all talukas in the committee, to form more and more affiliated units to
ensure balance growth of the sports to conduct talent hunt in school,
colleges clubs all over Goa, prepare a list of most talented players all
over Goa. Conduct regular coaching camps in every taluka level, conduct
tournament regularly in talika level, to conduct State Championships at
least 15 tournaments should be conducted in a year, depute state teams for
sub junior, junior and senior teams for zonal and nations, to hold Managing
Committee meeting regularly, hold General Body Meeting once in a month for
the transparency in the association, convey their quarries, problems to
federation, advice federation to select the state talents for the camps of
Indian Team, should conduct state referees exams and provide more and more
good referees, encourage them for the National Referee exam, to conduct
workshops, orientation courses for the physical education teachers of
schools, higher secondary schools and colleges, for raising funds they
should look for sponsorer create some other activity for generation of
funds, to give competition exposure to various teams in Goa at taluka,
village level, depute enthusiastic staff and some encourage voluntarily
interested for their new ideas for the betterment of association activities.
Shri Jovito Lopes said transparency should be in both ways should be there
and there sould be some good understanding between the SAG and associations.
Associations are not functioning properly it should have some place to
easily contact concern person to general players/parents and others, SAG
should provide them some place for them to work freely or to conduct day to
day practice and regular meetings he also raised the issue of coaches,
current coaches are not at the level they should they not also graded, they
not also second class, they are stagnant.
Shri Dharma Chodankar Ex-MLA and president of Goa Softball Association
agreed in the issue raised by Shri Shrikant Barve that every association
should registered under Society Act 1860 and should renew every five year.
If the any association have not registered or renewed with the period of
five years that the association is defunct and also every association must
submit their annual financial report to Sports Authority of Goa(SAG) and Goa
Olympic Association if this criteria is not followed by any association the
association will not eligible for any grant from SAG and is unanimously
supported.

Association, Shri N.V. Kurade Goa Mallakhamb Association, Shri Shashikant

Association of Goa, Shri P.A. Borgave Athletic coach, Shri Ashley Gomes from
GMSA and other 15 dignitaries were present for the seminar.
