Madam/Sir 2nd of January is the birthday of late. Shri Lucasinho Rebeiro, the ‘Creator of Tiatr’, who wrote and staged the first tiatr on 17th April, 1892 at Mumbai. Since its inception, every year Tiatr Academy of Goa observes this day with great honor and pays rich tributes to the man who created this great and unique art form, the Tiatr. On this occasion TAG also presents ‘Lifetime Contribution to Tiatr Stage Awards’ for the non- commercial tiatr artistes who are above 60 years of age and have given their valuable contribution to the tiatr stage. Tiatr Academy of Goa will Celebrate his Birthday on 2nd January, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. at the Open Air Auditorium, Kala Academy, Panaji. Shri. Dayanand Mandrekar, Hon. Minister for Art and culture will be the Chief Guest and will present the Awards. Shri Filipe Pereira a veteran tiatr artiste will be the Guest of Honor on this occasion and Shri Jacob Fernandes, President, Tiatr Academy of Goa will preside over the function. After the Awards presentation function there will be a Konkani Musical Show presented by Shri. Lawry Travasso a well known and popular singer of the tiatr stage along with his troupe consisting of some of the well known artistes of the tiatr stage.
