The report on the student response and the progress at Margao, Ponda and Vasco is appended below as a Pressnote published in the NT today. After the Pnajim round at Mary Immacualte HS tomorrow, the finals will be at Instituto Menezes Braganza Hall on Sunday 24 September, 2006 at 4.00 P.M. There is no limit to the number of two-member teams that a school can send. St Britto High School is sending three teams of two students each from Std.VII, VIII and IX. A range of students will get exposure to GK Quizzing in a hark back to the days when we were trained and exposed to the GK world by "Sir" Ivan Rocha in the 1970s and 1980s. My youngest son,Colin, was busy with GK books reading about the "Scientists, discoveries and inventions", a topic that is both his forte and allotted specialisation for the Quiz team of Std. VII. It reminded me of my school days when I specialised in "History, Geography, Currency, Longest and Shortest" of almost everything. Most schools and Colleges in Mhapsa will send one team at least. The "Mongini's Quiz" will be held in DM's Dnyanaprasarak High School Hall, Vaishya Bhavan, Mhapsa-Goa. today at 3.30 P.M. It is open to public audiences. Viva Goa.
