I wish to learn. what Arcaria Almeida said on "expat and Goan issues." As an expat and writer on Goan issues, I would like to know what are these issues. Maybe Arcaria can provide us with her detailed views. I don't know if the meet passes any resolutions to be forwarded to respective departments of the Goa govt. As per FN's report, I find the other issues were just passing thoughts. Timble's advocating activitism is something that is seen on the Goan political stage. Chief officer of Mapusa Municipal Council (MMC) and MMC Chairperson Sudhir Kandolkar restored the Shakuntala fountain on Monday evening. The Shakuntala fountain is an important landmark of the Mapusa Municipal market. The fountain, which is at the entrance of the municipal market, was inaugurated in 1962 by Indian Military Governor Major General K.P. Candeth. The beautiful scene of non-stop water flowing from the Shakuntala’s pot is a treat to the eyes of the young and old. The fountain had lost its beauty to lethargic attitude of the municipal authorities. It has been years now that the Shakuntala fountain has stopped functioning, but MMC did not bother to make it functional and restore the beauty of the Mapusa market. The issue of Shakuntala fountain was highlighted by the media several times.
