Dear Benedict,

For the sake of our fellow goans , Yes anytime.
But what I was thinking for our fellow goans was BETTER than what they/we
had.(going by the experiences of the past)

And moreover sort this out ONCE AND FOR ALL.

Best Regards
Mario

Hello Goa's Pride,

We UAE Goans, are fighting to get the direct flights to Goa from Dubai
re-installed after being abruptly dis-continued. Mangalore's flights are not
in question at all. They surely have direct flight.

As Goa's Pride if you can, you are welcome to join in to help us UAE Goans
get this sorted out without adding a dosko. You will thus re-install
Goa's Pride among the UAE Goans.

And may we know whether these planes were flying half empty or half full to
run at a loss?

IA from Sharjah was flying via Calicut and I can't believe there were no
passengers flying to Calicut on that plane with only Goans going, gone

Cheers

Agnelo

Hi Benedict,\\

i appreciate your support and suggestions regarding
the restoration of a direct flight from Dubai to
Goa...

but will wholeheartedly disagree that writing to the
Goa government will help, leave alone the commissioner
of NRI affairs...

till date tourism minister Mikey has acted like a
mickey mouse and has gone hiding on the issue and not
even uttered a word, despite praful patel the union
civil aviation minister being a NCP man...

Eduardo faleiro will never have to face the electorate
hence he will not work towards this cause...

the Goa government is in a deep state of slumber and
will never act, afterall digamber kamat's vote bank
has very little NRI's and their families...The Goa
government will act only if the migrants are
effected...

kind regards

By the way, there is no 'loss' sector in this part of the world !!
It's lucrative as ever.

The regional airlines and some just a couple of years old have show
astonishing and amazingly 'progressive' turnovers!

It is the 'service' that counts!!!

Re: [Goanet] IA has let us down in the past

2008-04-23 Thread Benedict

Hi Mario, Cedrico,

I do respect your views and I must admit that I am one of those who dont
fly with IC but that is because of various reasons ,like they dont fly on a
thursday. However we must look at the greater good of the Goan
community. We have been getting hundreds of emails from fellow goans here in
the UAE in the past few days writing about their harrowing experiences
travelling via Mumbai for their elderly and mothers with children. It has not
been easy for them to spend the whole day at Mumbai airport and change
flights. We had written to the chairman of Kingfisher Airlines but they do
not have the nessarary permissions to operate flights in this sector and
they said they will look into it in the future. That is if they ever start
flights to UAE, I am sure it will be for profitable sectors like Mumbai or
Kerala.IC being a national carrier, its our best bet to get a direct flight
service to Goa.So I would like to go with the view of Cynthia, that
Something is better than nothing.

Jet Kingfisher may not happen at all as nobody wants to pick up what IC
calls a loss making sector.

So guys lets not lose what we allready had for something we might nevr get.
So pick up your pens and your laptops and start writing to Goa Govt, IC,NRI
Comission and people in Authority to get back what we allready lost.If not
for our sake ,but for the sake of our fellow Goans.

Best Wishes
Benedict

[Goanet] IA has let us down in the past

2008-04-22 Thread cedrico dacosta

I fully agree to Mario's views, the IA flight from shj
has let us down several times in the past...and also
the high handed attitude of the manager's at the
sharjah airport was quite questionable...

its time we get a private airline, with a high level
of professionalism...

I think the best bet is Jet or Kingfisher...

Kind regards
Cedric
