Re: [Goanet] Open Letter to Caitu (Benaulim MLA)

2014-01-05 Thread Stephen Dias
Dear Arwin Mesquita,

I fully agree that Benaulim and Colva is gone to DOGS. Nobody works
nowadays. Complete MESS. Parrikar Government is in shambles. I met
Judith some days back, and she told me how much she is working for
Colva lake problems. Goa Biodiversity Board headed by Minister of
Environment Mrs Alina is helpless as Parrikar controls her and Nitin
is a Member Secretary is not doing anything. Look at his salary. And
how many posts he is holding. There is no fault of Caitu but then
whole Government. Even any great man had come it would have been the
same or may be worse.
Let us not target small fries but catch big ones.

Honorable MLA, as a member of your constituency I would like to let you

 assembly elections.

However, today I am deeply disappointed to note that the change for the
better has not happened. Benaulim/Colva is in the same state as it was 2
years back; if not worse. To be honest, I have not seen any significant
improvements since you have been elected by the people to serve our great
constituency. (1) Beaches still filthy, (2) Many Commercial establishments
still polluting the environment, (3) Garbage still being burnt in open
areas (4) SAG Ground at Colva still in a pathetic state etc i.e. even the
basics are not in place. It is a shame to see the World Famous Colva beach
in such a deplorable state. And for me to be particularly concerned, among
others 2 things that I hear you are actively pursuing are environmentally
destructive projects like (A) Petrol Pump at Benaulim and (B)
Concretisation of a lush green lake opposite Colva Church, despite
objections from the people and opinions against the same, by the experts.
On the latter, you are also aware that the Gram Sabha held on 6th October
was aborted by the current Colva Sarpanch, in face of massive opposition by
members, who were against the concretisation.

Dear Sir, I request you to work with us - including me - for the
betterment of our beautiful constituency. I am for development but
constructive development which will safeguard our environment and also
 benefit our future generations

On this matter I request other Benaulimkars who voted for change to also
 give their views, if the positive change has happened or not in Benaulim;
 since March 2012.

 Arwin Mesquita, Benaulim.
