Without using the term 'flame bait' (oops!) I could just say that I
saw this reply coming. Haha :-) FN
PS: There should be some simple-to-remember number when one needs the
cyber-fire extinguishers! But Goa's 108 might not be a good comparison
right now. Or is it?

Dears,

I did not know that "Flame baits" were allowed on GoaNet.

It appears that Frederick Noronha is writing / has written a new
'thesis' on this topic. His 2005 dogma: it was "mainly those Colaco
types. Bernardo, Paulo and Jose who propound this
colonialism-started-in-1961 theory".

When asked to provide proof for the above statement (with regards to
Paulo and Jose), Frederick Noronha ducked. He has now resurfaced
with an ostensibly modified 'thesis'.

I too am happy to see Dominic back. As far as posts are concerned, my
'thesis' is that value is always added when a post is received and
posted.

I guess Domnic's post was just a flame-bait meant to get Goans (and
others) to show which side of the 1961 divide they support! My thesis
is that some Goanetters (a few, but loudly vocal) believe that
colonialism-in-Goa-started-in-1961!

Domnic, more seriously, nice to have you back. Your posts add value to
Goanet as always. FN

2009/10/9 Domnic Fernandes

We all know how much Saddam Hussein (28/4/1937-30/12/2006,) the late
President of Iraq, loved the Kuwaitis. He loved them so much that he
decided to destroy the country by setting Kuwaiti oil wells ablaze.
Fortunately, experts from the US and other countries were successful
in extinguishing the fires and saved Kuwait from total destruction.

Similarly, António de Oliveira Salazar (28/4/1889-27/7/1970,) the late
President of Portugal, loved Goans so much that he ordered his men to
destroy Goa before they left.

===

Dear Dominic,

I wondered about your examples and subject title you chose.

This in actuality is a moot topic - except to decide our ability to
balance information.

I will not touch two topics:

[1] If Kuwait was a part of Iraq and why it was sectioned off by whom?

[2] If Goa was bombed and by whom?

Allow me to ask these questions:

a: Did the Iraqi army follow the orders of Saddam?

b: Did the Portuguese army follow the orders of Salazar?

c: Which individual (set of individuals) prevented the army from
following Salazar's orders?

d: What was their nationality?

f: What eventually happened to them?

g: Is your title fair and balanced?

h: What would you expect India to do IF Indonesia or Thailand invade
the Andaman Islands?

He had also sent warships to finish Goa but the late Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru's
(14/11/1889-27/5/1964) friend, Gamal Abdel Nasser (15/1/1918-28/9/1970,) the
late
President of Egypt, did not allow the ships to cross the Suez Canal; or else we
would have been doomed. Keep in mind India was no where on the world stage when
it
liberated Goa. In fact, it suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of China
the
following year.

The Portuguese did succeed in blowing up and destroying some bridges before
they
were purged from Goa.

Just like Saddam Hussein, Salazar's moto was: "Mhakai nam, tukai nam!" (Neither
I
have it nor you!)
