18-YEAR OLD IN MAJOR DABOLIM DRGU HAUL: Italian national of
Indian origin, Bonitra Nilam Wadhwa, was caught with
narcotics worth about Rs 5.5 million concealed in her bag.
It contained Ecstasy tablets and cocaine in a black bag,
which was detected in the x-ray machine. She was caught
at about 7 am which checking in to board her Indian IC 866
flight to Mumbai, from where she was to fly to Auckland
via Singapore. The haul was worth about Rs 600 million in
the international market. 

BANK POLITICS: Navhind reports that the Goa State Co-op
Bank Ltd (GSCB) will initiate a police as well as
vigilance action against its former chairman, (politician)
Prakash Velip and vice-chairman Rajkumar Dessai, for causing
heavy losses to the bank. (NT)

SPORTS: Dempo pip Salgaocar, stay on track. Defending
champions Dempo put their ONGC 10th National Football League
