[google-appengine] Re: my custom domain name is not working on google app engine.

2019-01-07 Thread NP
Can you explain what you mean by - not working on Google App Engine?

For example, were you able to add it to the Custom Domains tab on your
console? Were you able to verify ownership of the domain?

Put another way, did you follow the steps in this documentation

but you encountered an error? If so, on which step did you get an error and
what is the error?

Re: [google-appengine] Re: F1 instances now have 256MB memory?

2019-01-07 Thread 'Tiago (Google Cloud Platform Support)' via Google App Engine
Thanks for the clarification as well, Jeff.

The information I provided above only applies to apps deployed using the
Java 8 runtime on GAE Standard, though. I’m currently not aware of
circumstances when a F1 instance would allocate 256 MB when in use with
Python 2.7 on GAE Standard.

In any case, replying to your initial question, there currently aren't any
changes to the size and speed of instance classes on GAE Standard. Apart
from the small aside on the Java runtime I explained above, the official
documentation [1] indeed provides accurate info regarding how much heap
memory and CPU your application has available for usage.

 Hi George,

My interest in upgrading is faster processors. I have some fairly

My F1 instances have 256MB. They regularly go above 128MB and when
they exceed 256MB, I get this message in my logs:

So despite that the docs say that F1 instances have 128MB, mine
 actually have 256MB.

[google-appengine] Re: GCE Managed SSL: param for ECDSA certificates?

2019-01-07 Thread 'Nicolas (Google Cloud Platform Support)' via Google App Engine
Hi Mark,

Currently it is not possible to manually customize the TLS versions on App
engine.

However a feature request has been forwarded to the App Engine engineering
team so that they may evaluate it. You can track the feature request here
. Note that there are no
ETAs or guarantees of implementation for feature requests.

Also I have created a private issue on Issue Tracker so you can provide us
the customs domains and the TLS specifications that you want. This will
allow me to file a request so it can be done manually by our team. You can
find this issue here .

[google-appengine] Re: Pushed my site with deploy but old one remains

2019-01-07 Thread 'George (Cloud Platform Support)' via Google App Engine
Hi Nikos,

This seems to be a new question: how to detach mapping of your custom
domain to your service. You did not mention this purpose till now. For a
new question, it is better to open a new thread, but not in Groups. This
forum meant for general discussion on the platform and its services, not
technical matters. If you think you have noticed an issue with Google Cloud
Platform, the place to open a new issue were the Public Issue Tracker
. This is not the case, as you
simply ask for advice. In your case, forums such as stackoverflow would be
appropriate, where experienced programmers are ready to provide expert
advice.

To detach the mapping of your custom domain to your service, you can simply
follow the advice provided in the "Deleting a custom domain" sub-chapter

of the "Setting up a custom domain" document.

[google-appengine] Re: Pushed my site with deploy but old one remains

2019-01-07 Thread Nikos Katsikanis
awesome, I deleted the old project to get the custom domain free, any idea
how long I need to wait?

Point your domain to qunatumvue
Google will add a free, auto-renewing SSL certificate to your application
for security.
The following domain and subdomains will be mapped:

   - quantumjs.com
   -

   - *www.quantumjs.com* is already mapped to a project.

Also what does \1 mean here in this yaml?

handlers:
  - url: /(.*\.(js|css|png|jpg|svg|ttf|ico|manifest|pdf))$
static_files: \1
upload: .*\.(js|css|png|jpg|svg|ttf|ico|manifest|pdf)$
# catch all handler to index.html
  - url: /.*
static_files: index.html
upload: index.html

[google-appengine] Testbed stubs for Cloud Datastore?

2019-01-07 Thread Blaine Garrett
I'm starting down the path of migrating python 2.7 Standard env projects to
utilize the python 3.7 Standard beta runtime. As a 2nd generation runtime,
I'm aware it is in beta and that it is very different from the 1st
generation environments.

I have the python datastore client working as well as the data store
emulator. This works quite well, but it fairly slow for integration tests.
One nice feature of the 2.7 sdk was the testbed that provided stubs for the
datastore, etc. While mocking the datastore client is a lot easier than
mocking the old ndb module, it would be ideal to have something like the
test bed stubs again.

Is there currently an equivalent of the testbed from Google? If not, is
anyone aware of a 3rd party effort?

Additionally, is anyone aware of an equivalent datastore interface to ndb?
While, hard to mock, it was a very nice interface into datastore, not to
mention the built in cache support.

Cheers,
~ Blaine

[google-appengine] Re: When/Where to create index and add documents for Search API - Java

2019-01-07 Thread 'Tiago (Google Cloud Platform Support)' via Google App Engine
Hello Akash,

This could be achieved by redefining your database transaction calls to log
externally in persistent storage a timestamp along with the associated
transactions when updates are made to the database. You would then trigger
updates to the index based on the specific entries in this log with cron.

Alternatively, you could externally store a checksum of the database once
it has been fully indexed, and introduce a conditional statement at startup
to only re-update the index when that checksum has been changed.

Another possibility would be to store the information on if an entity was
already indexed directly in the database itself (possibly with a boolean
property).

The better choice between these options depends strongly on the
peculiarities of your project (choice and size of database, transaction
implementations, readily available access to external storage for the logs,
etc).

[google-appengine] Re: App Engine PHP 7.3

2019-01-07 Thread 'George (Cloud Platform Support)' via Google App Engine
Hello James,

It is difficult to offer even an appropriate release date for PHP versions.
Development speed is known to depend on many factors, testing results are
not known in advance, and decisions might be taken in the last moment.
Assuming you use App Engine Flexible, you'll need to still stay with PHP
version 7.2 for now. What are the advantages of 7.3 that you find important
for your application? What features are sorely needed, that only 7.3
offers? A feature request needs the support of a well-motivated use case to
prove its point and convince.
