TextBox not working in FireFox

2012-09-07 Thread rohit s kumar
 Hi

 I am using gwt 2.4.0. jar. I have a problem with text box
setFocus() in Firefox 15.

 I researched about the topic and I have find out a lot of solution
using

 Scheduler.get().scheduleDeferred(new Scheduler.ScheduledCommand ()
{
  public void execute () {
 textbox.setfocus(true);
}
  });

 DeferredCommand.addCommand(new Command() {
public void execute() {
textbox.setfocus(true);
}
  });

 I also used timer to schedule the focus(), but that won't
work.

   But None of them worked. The setFocus(true) is working fine in IE 9
and IE8 . Please help me ...

Testing GWT1.6 App with JUnit

2012-01-04 Thread Rohit Gupta
Hey everyone

I have just inherited :) a legacy project using GWT 1.6 and running on
Glassfish V2.1 server.
The server side component is EJB3.0.

I want to develop unit tests to test the GWT app.

Here is the sample test case I wrote -

/**

package com.tf.sea.test;

import com.google.gwt.junit.client.GWTTestCase;
import com.tf.sea.client.pages.CreateUserPage;

/**

public class TransactionFormPageTest extends GWTTestCase {

private final static String MODULE_NAME = "com.tf.sea.SeaWebApp";
@Override
public String getModuleName() {
// TODO Auto-generated method stub
return MODULE_NAME;
}

public void testSomething() {

CreateUserPage createUserPage = new CreateUserPage();
assertTrue(true);
}

}

However, on running it, I get the following error

Force RequestFactory to use different base url

2011-01-01 Thread Rohit Ghatol
Hi All,
I am trying to use RequestFactory (http://code.google.com/webtoolkit/
doc/trunk/DevGuideRequestFactory.html) in my GWT Application. This
application would be hosted at xyz.com (actually its embedded inside
an Android client and loaded by Android's WebView using
file://assets/ApplicationScaffold.html), now I want to force Request
Factory to do make calls to abc.com instead of xyz.com (where the
actual web app is loaded).

Safely assume Single Origin Policy does not apply to my browser, so
how to I provide a different url to RequestFactory.

Cheers,
Rohit

Re: Universal Document Converter

2010-07-11 Thread rohit jain
Trying building something like an information management system, and
would like to have an interoperability feature for amongst various
formats.
So that user can have the data in the desired format. That would help
reduce dependence on underlying operating system.
We will be using GWT for the interface so that it can reside on the
cloud.

Universal Document Converter

2010-07-10 Thread rohit jain
Hello,
I am searching on ways to make a small app for converting documents
from one format to other.
Mainly these formats .doc , .pdf , .odt , .rtf.. and maybe a couple
more.
Has anyone tried this before??
I came across the library JODConverter but it needs open office to be
already installed and i don't really know how many people have used it
with gwt in past.

Please give me some starting pointers, or if anyone has experience
with this kind of app, do share.

Thanks and regards,
Rohit

Image Format Conversion + alternative to FileOutputStream

2010-07-05 Thread rohit jain
Hello,

I firstly made a simple program that converted images to any of the
desired format by user using JAI.
Then i thought of trying similar stuff on GWT.
As FileOutputStream idoes not work with GWT, i first tried to make a
program where user can upload an image and then download it.
Now i want to kind of merge these two and i'm really very confused.

String fileName = (String)req.getParameter("fileName");
File file=new File("c:/users/rohit/desktop/"+fileName);
int length=0;
 // Load the input image.
 RenderedOp src = JAI.create("fileload", file);

 // Encode the file as a JPEG image.
 OutputStream os=null;
try {
os =new FileOutputStream(file);
} catch (FileNotFoundException e) {
System.out.println("Cannot write the JPEG File");
e.printStackTrace();
}

JPEGEncodeParam param = new JPEGEncodeParam();
ImageEncoder enc = ImageCodec.createImageEncoder("JPEG", os,
param);
try {
enc.encode(src);
} catch (IOException e) {
System.out.println("Exception in encoding");
e.printStackTrace();
}
try {
os.close();
} catch (IOException e) {
System.out.println("Error in closing file");
e.printStackTrace();
}

ServletContext context =getServletConfig().getServletContext();
//String mimetype=context.getMimeType(fileName);
String mimetype="image/jpeg";
resp.setContentType(mimetype);
//resp.setContentLength((int)file.length());
resp.setHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=
\""+fileName+"\"");
ServletOutputStream op = resp.getOutputStream();

byte[] buffer = new byte[4096];
DataInputStream in=new DataInputStream(new
FileInputStream(file));
while ((os!=null)&&((length = os.read(buffer))!=-1)){
op.write(buffer, 0, length);
}
os.close();
op.flush();
op.close();

}

above is the code of the server side. I store the file on hard disk
after getting it uploaded from user.
The above code is wrong. Basically i need an alternative to
FileOutputStream.

Yes i was able to do it after reading overlays.

   It was tedious to write a wrapper for every javascript object
extending the JavaScriptObject.

Anyways thanks for the quick reply.

Re: Reading XML on Client

2009-05-14 Thread Rohit Vadera

I would be giving the try to XStream.

But before that

http://code.google.com/webtoolkit/doc/1.6/DevGuideCodingBasics.html#D...

The example given by google in above link never tells how we have to
read the xml from file system becasue as I know java.io is again not
supported.

Once read then only i can convert it into String.

Anybody clues please!!!

Ok i gottcha.

But would it be fast enough compared to RPC which will use SAX for
parsing and then returning the data structure of values in collection.
Does it really depends on XML size to choose between GWT API or SAX on
server??

webAppCreator -out MyApplication com.mycompany.MyApplication

If you do not want to use the Google Plugin for Eclipse, you can
import a project created with webAppCreator as described above. To
open your project in Eclipse,

>From the File menu, select the Import... menu option.
Select the import source General > Existing Projects into Workspace.
Click the Next button.
For the root directory, browse to and select the MyApplication
directory created by webAppCreator. Click the Finish button.

Does GWT 1.6 support Gilead magic automatically for hibernate objects.

Unable to find example where steps are given to integrate Hibernate
and GWT with Gilead.

lazy loading.

I am going through all examples but seems they use Spring.

Simple examples are always good. :)

thanks

adapter-core.jar
hibernate-util.jar if you use core Hibernate (SessionFactory)
hibernate-jpa-util.jar if you use Hibernate encapsulation of JPA
(EntityManagerFactory)
adapter4gwt.jar

Also is there any link where Gilead(hibernate4GWT) integration with
GWT is given.

I am using GWT1.6

Re: Cannot launch Google Web Toolkit Hosted Mode applications in Vista

2009-03-17 Thread Rohit Patnaik
I fixed my own problem. Okay, it seems that you're not supposed to launch
the -shell.cmd from within Eclipse. To launch the project from
within eclipse, use the "Run" button, or launch the shell manually from a
shell.

When I try to launch Google Web Toolkit hosted mode applications on
Windows Vista, I get the following error:

It seems that Tomcat is trying to write to C:\Windows\system32, which,
for obvious reasons, Windows has restricted access to. Is there any
way to change the location that Tomcat looks in for web.xml?

Re: Back & Refresh button handling

2009-03-15 Thread Rohit

Hi
There is no way in GWT to distinguish between Refresh button click and
Window close button click. But you can track refresh button with a
little trick. You should use a time cookie which will expire after
some time. So when refresh button is pressed, in on module load of
entry point , track the value of this cokkie, if this cookie is still
alive, this means refresh button is pressed. The time this cookie will
expired should be considered. It should be very little.

Second for history, you should save your information in Session on
window close and then if refresh button is pressed, get your
information from this session.

Thanks and regards

Rohit

hmm .. So it won't solve null termination problem i think. Then wctomb
is not what i need.

hmm.. I am getting confused here. Let me try asking the question in
other words. I have two layers one is gwt based(java) front end and
back end with uclibc without wchar support. What i am trying to
achieve is keep uclibc as it is (without wchar support). Use case is
front end should be able to accept US-ASCII data + UTF-8 data as
input , send it to back end which stores it in a file and returns back
to front end which should be able to render it correctly. Functions
present in back end depends heavily on null termination property of
input data and as long as possible i would like to avoid it.If my gwt
based layer sends all strings in such way that it will not have '\0'
in between (strings like this is possible as front end supports UTF-8
input)but only at the end, then its enough for me.

I was hoping wctomb would covert a unicode char which in normal case
if treated as single byte char sequence might have '\0' in it, to a
multi byte sequence(might be more than 2 bytes if required) which will
not have '\0' but correct me if i am wrong.

I know this. But there are two layers here and one does not understand
anything other than US-ASCII and one understands UTF-8 and US-ASCII.
What i am asking is if there is any way i can put some sort of
translators between these two layers, make them both handle UTF-8 data
correctly. Even the layer which supports only US-ASCII will be able to
handle UTF-8 data as it will receive output of wctomb or some such
function (which i am assuming will not have '\0'),CMIIAW. So UTF-8
data gets converted to some multi byte sequence without '\0' and then
i can do reverse translation while reading it back. And if this can be
done which java function from string class is appropriate for this
task ?

wctomb equivalent in gwt framework ?

2008-09-03 Thread Rohit

I have simple application based on client-server model. Where back end
does not support UTF-8 but only US-ASCII. From what i know java string
is always Unicode. If i were to support Unicode input in my front-end
(client) side, how can i achieve this ?. Is there any wctomb
equivalent in java/gwt framework which can be used for this purpose
and i can covert unicode string to some multibyte sequence and then
send it to back end.Convert multibyte to unicode again when reading
data from back end. Thus back end can forget about Unicode stuff. I am
not sure if wctomb itself can be used for this purpose or not.
