It also works for javax.validation-1.0.0.jar and javax.validation-1.0.0-sources.jar from the GWT SDK bundle for instance. Check the layout of your -sources.jar. Running jar xf foo.jar and jar xf foo-sources.jar in the same folder should put the *.java next to their *.class counterparts.
