MS Edge - readEntries() doesn't work

Hello everyone,

i want to traverse a file system like in following example: 

function traverse(entry, path) { 
  path = path || ""; 
  if (entry.isFile) {

item.file(function(file) { 
  console.log("File:", path + file.name); 
}); 
  } else if (entry.isDirectory) { 
// Get folder contents 
var dirReader = entry.createReader(); 
dirReader.readEntries(function(entries) { 
  for (var i = 0; i < entries.length; i++) { 
traverse(entries[i], path + entry.name + "/"); 
  } 
}); 
  } 
}

My problem is, that in MS Edge it doesn't work. the error callback just returns 
'unknown error'.
And i have really no idea why it is not working in MS Edge. FF and Chrome are 
ok. 

I am using GWT 2.7 --> an update to 2.8 is not possible because i have to use 
Java 6.

I really hope that anyone of you has any idea for me
