Re: [Gossip] exporting mailing lists in mbox format

2017-06-04 Thread Jeff Breidenbach
Sorry for missing this earlier. There is no self service mechanism for
downloading
raw mail, in pat to prevent address harvesting. The normal procedure
is to contact
support team with a request.

Unfortunately this is an 11 year old mailing list, and a bunch of the
raw mail has
been moved to very cold storage. We're talking disk drives that are
not connected
at all, sitting in a box. It's not going to be easy or fast to pull the data.

If your main goal is merging archives on mail-archive.com, that can be done at
the HTML level without pulling ancient raw mail. Super easy if the more recent
list is new or has mbox available. The procedure for merges is a
support request,
to themailarch...@gmail.com.

[Gossip] exporting mailing lists in mbox format

2017-05-30 Thread Werner LEMBERG

Folks,

is there a script (or a service) to convert a mailing list archive on
mail-archive.com back to the mbox format? In my particular case I
would like to get the stuff from

  https://www.mail-archive.com/cjk@ffii.org/

This list is now closed, and I'm not too optimistic that the original
mbox files on ffii.org still exist...

The main reason for my request is that I want to merge the old list
data with the current one (c...@nongnu.org).
