[GRASS-dev] nviz: overlay two color raster maps?

2010-04-09 Thread Markus Neteler
Hi,

I have some troubles to drape in NVIZ a patchy land surface temperature
map over a color orthophoto (over a elevation model). The idea is to
show the LST for some agricultural patches.

Other tries:
- r.patch beforehand fails in a sense that it messes up the color table
- i.image.mosaik likewise

Masking in NVIZ didn't have to seem an effect.

Any ideas?

6.4.0 should be sync'd to 6.5. Maybe 6.5 should be sync'd to 7.0
first, with one exception: the 7.0 version of grass.script.mapcalc()
relies upon r.mapcalc using G_parser(), which won't work in 6.x.
Although, there isn't any fundamental reason why the 6.x version won't
work in 7.0.

[GRASS-dev] WinGrass7-installer + "GRASS 7.0.SVN with MSYS"-desktop-shortcut

2010-04-09 Thread Helmut Kudrnovsky
hi,

with the last modifications of the WinGrass7 and WinGrass7-installer, Grass7 is
started by the grass70.py script.

if you start with the "GRASS-70-SVN"-desktop-shortcut, you get WinGrass7
starting AND in the background a full functional windows-console.

in this windows-console you can start - if you want within a Grass7-session -
python or a shell (in this shell you have access to sed, awk, ...) and can use
also all windows-commandline-tools.

the "GRASS 7.0.SVN with MSYS"-desktop-shortcut is broken at the moment.

so I would opt for deleting the "GRASS 7.0.SVN with MSYS"-desktop-shortcut,
because a full functional commandline is available (see above).

and the docs should be adapted for this.

any opinion?

best regards

Helmut

Comment (by hamish):

 most of what you want is already given by usage:

 {{{
 Usage:
  r.buffer [-z] input=name output=name distances=value[,value,...]
[units=string] [--overwrite] [--verbose] [--quiet]
 }}}

 things in [square] brackets are optional (according to age-old unix
 convention (and prob ms-dos too))

 the 'name' or 'value' on the right side of the equals sign, if not given a
 custom setting by the programmer with opt->key_desc, could perhaps be
 improved. see the tcltk module guis which are quite informative. I think
 we still have some work to do on this for the wx module guis (see also
 #886 for that).
