Re: [GRASS-dev] [release planning] 7.4.0

2017-12-17 Thread Markus Neteler
Hi,

I'd like to get RC2 out.
Any objections?

Current TODOs:
- sync with transifex. Better: really understand how it works. Someone
must have set it up :)
- improve the i.ortho.* tools docs
- see https://trac.osgeo.org/grass/wiki/Grass7Planning#a7.4.0

Ah, just discovered the trick:

https://grasswiki.osgeo.org/w/index.php?title=Working_with_GRASS_without_starting_it_explicitly&diff=0&oldid=24906

Now it works fine.

people can fill in tutorials and courses? Then there would still be somebody
that needs to add (or remove) them to the list (I wouldn't mind doing that).
An alternative would be to link directly to a dedicated page on the GRASS
GIS wiki?

I'd suggest to make it a Wiki page to which we then link from the Web site.

Paulo, would you be willing to start that?

Yes, sure. Will make something in the coming week

[GRASS-dev] pip install grass-session - No matching distribution found for grass-session

2017-12-17 Thread Markus Neteler
Hi Pietro, all,

with joy I have seen the new "grass-session" magic in the Wiki.

I tried to install it but

pip install grass-session
Collecting grass-session
Could not find a version that satisfies the requirement
grass-session (from versions: )
No matching distribution found for grass-session

With strace I see

write(1, "Collecting grass-session\n", 25) = 25
stat("/home/mneteler/tmp/pip-build-hTGeiS", {st_mode=S_IFDIR|0700,
st_size=4096, ...}) = 0
stat("/home/mneteler/tmp/pip-build-hTGeiS/grass-session/setup.py",
0x7ffd283bcb30) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
stat("https://pypi.python.org/simple/grass-session/";, 0x7ffd283bc3b0)
= -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)

Checking the web site:

https://pypi.python.org/simple/grass-session
--> Not Found (grass-session does not exist)

Is there another trick needed?

thanks

Yes, please, backport it. I checked the code too – these really are only
leftovers and serve no purpose any more.
