[GRASS-user] problems installing extensions with g.extension

2020-01-23 Thread Vishal Mehta
I'm using Grass 7.4.1 on a WIndows 10 server, and am unable to successfully
install add-ons using g.extension. i'm interested in r.accumulate

g.extension -l list a large number of extensions, including r.accumulate

But
g.extension extension=r.accumulate

gives the following info:
Downloading precompiled GRASS Addons ,,
Error: Extension not found not found

Any ideas how i can install it?

(FYI, i'm most comfortable with GRASS on Linux and bash scripting, but i
have to use Windows for reasons beyond my control)

Thanks,
Vishal

[GRASS-user] GRASS GIS issues now on GitHub!

2020-01-23 Thread Markus Neteler
*GRASS GIS bug reporting and feature request on GitHub now! *

As it was treated in the last GRASS GIS community sprint
,
and with the aim of keeping
things as simple as possible, we have finally activated the issue tracker
for bug reports
and feature requests in the GRASS GIS GitHub repo
.

The old good trac site still remains active
for tickets that were originally open there. So, if
you have opened a ticket in trac, please either close it and open a new one
in GitHub
referencing the discussion in trac, or just keep it open and comment there.

For *new issues starting today*, please use GitHub
 :)

We'll soon create a template to better follow the different issue types
(bug or enhancement),
topics/tags, operating systems, GRASS GIS versions, etc.

[GRASS-user] r.sim.water simulation considering dams

2020-01-23 Thread Johannes Radinger
Dear GRASS users,

maybe someone of you has already worked with r.sim.water while considering
dams as impermeable structures that retain water, i.e. create
impoundments/reservoirs.

I am wondering how to best specify dams within r.sim.water: There is the
parameter flow_control which is a raster map that indicates the
permeability of the landscape. The manual mentions here a permeability
ratio (0-1) and I guess this should be 0 for all cells that represent a dam
and 1 for all other cells of the computational region?!
But what about the elevation data then; Do I need to provide an
elevation raster that includes the dam height or should this be the
elevation as without dams?
I'd like to know whether I need to provide a flow_control map or an
elevation map that includes dams or both? I couldn't find any example of
r.sim.water that uses the flow_control parameter so far... any
ideas/experiences from your side?

cheers,
Johannes
