Support setting I2C_TIMEOUT via ioctl for i2c-designware

Status in linux source package in Xenial:

Bug description:
  SRU Justification

  [Impact]
The timeout value in i2c-designware is hardcoded. Userspace tool may want to
change the timeout value via ioctl I2C_TIMEOUT, but it doesn't work for
i2c-designware.

  [Test Case]
Change the timeout value via ioctl I2C_TIMEOUT. Nothing happened.
With the patch, timeout value for i2c-designware will be updated correctly.

  [Regression Potential]
Minimal. The change only applies to a specific driver, i2c-designware. Also,
it has minimal code change.

Bug description:
  SRU Justification:

  Impact:
When running cmd_up there are a few failure points which call fail_up to
unwind but then do not exit with failure. This also has effect on running
"fanatic enable-fan" which itself runs fanctl.

  Fix:
Force the fail_up function to do a hard stop by adding an "exit 1" statement.

  Testcase: TBD

Repeating "can't open /dev/ttyX: No such device or address" messages
  during installation

Status in Ubuntu on IBM z Systems:
  Confirmed
Status in console-setup package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete
Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  [Impact]

console-setup continuously tries to open /dev/tty[1-6] on s390x, when
such consoles do not exist on s390x.

This can be seen on boot in the output from the initramfs, and during
  the installer.

  [Cuase]

It seems to me that the postinst of the console-setup is incorrect for
s390, since on s390 Linux tty[1-6] do not exist in any modes (LPAR,
  z/VM, KVM)

  [Solution]
I do not know what ACTIVE_CONSOLES should be set as, my guess is to set it
to... "guess". Usually it should be slcp, but that depends on which consoles
are configured/activated in the given KVM.

  [Testcase]
On boot, scroll all the messages and makesure there are no error messages
about inability to open /dev/tty*

  [Original Bug Report]

During the installation (z/VM guest and KVM virtual machine) of Ubuntu
Server 16.04.1 (and 16.04.2) repeating messages of the form:

Bug description:
  [Impact]
Currently kexec is unable to see all the "System RAM" recorded in /proc/iomem.

On a newer UEFI based Qualcomm target the number of system ram regions
retrieved from /proc/iomem are ~40. Currently KEXEC_SEGMENT_MAX is
set to 16, which represents the kexec segments passed to kexec_load
syscall, like kernel image, initrd image etc. The patch increases the
value to 64. This enables kexec to see all the "System RAM" as
  recorded in /proc/iomem.
