Hello All;

Just thought I would chime-in.

The part number for the K N rubber top oval filter is RU-2450.

Hopefully this helps.

RE: Sudden buzz

I think the numb fingers problem is due to prolonged gripping of the
throttle, rather than buzz. I use a wrist throttle, or whatever it's called
-- it's a metal strip 2 inches wide that wraps once around the grip and
protrudes a few inches toward you. You rest your wrist on it and can
operate the throttle with the heel of your hand, while relaxing your
fingers. Lets you move your hand around and keeps it from getting numb. I
got it at a Honda place -- they sell them for Wings.

A friend of mine has one of these for her bike. She has problems with
her wrists and elbows and finds it works very well. It is not unsightly
either.

2000-05-31 Thread Hugh Hamilton

Instead of just tying the crankase breather haphazard somewhere
to the frame, you should attach one of those little porous stone
filters to the end of it. You can get these at aquarium stores and
also auto supply stores.
This breather tube not only exhales but can inhale as well so you
want the end filtered somehow.
The porous stone will allow air flow as well as absorb any oil vapors
spewed out by the engine.
Simply replace the stone filter when you clean your KNs

Honda Hoot Americade

Hey GTS Fans,

The Wife and I are going to the Honda Hoot on the Goldwing. staying at the
Sleep Inn Biltmore. Look for the Jersey Tags, light green Wing. As for the
Americade, might go up for the day. Met some great people last year (my
first time). Rode around all day seeing Moose, Beaver and unlike Jersey,
didn't see many cars or trucks, just alot of green and asphalt! Will be
wearing my colors (Blue Knights).

So long for now

Buzz
Clock
Grips
Weights

With the Buzz problem taking interesting ideas I just finished a 60 mile ride
after making some adjustments.

Stats
93 GTS. 15.6k of total miles on bike. New tires with about 1.5k miles on
them. Shock settings by the book set in the lower areas of stiffness on the
front. When purchased bike it was way to soft.
Before today had the buzz from right grip around 4k rpm which indicates just
above 60 mph. It was noticeable and the reason I wrapped solder wire in the
groves in the bar end weights several months ago.

Past listings covered moving the front brake up against the start switch
housing to see the clock. Well, this buzz is frequency. Change the length
you change the frequency. So I have moved the front brake housing up against
the start switch housing. Moved the clutch up against the left light switch
housing. Also added more .020 solder wire from being a depression to being a
hump of about 1/8 inch high in the grove that is in the stock bar end weights
on the right side only.

I can see the clock and after this 60 mile ride the buzz has not vanished
but has been very effectively reduced. Still the blood flow to fingers is
hampered by the small diameter of the grips. Some ideas of increasing this
will be made in the future. This combination may work for some. They can be
changed or placed back is the good thing. Hope this works for others.

Before everyone goes tearing off their bars getting the "bar snake" for
the vibes, ya might think about the fact that our bars are solid, not
hollow, so about the only way you could use the snake would be to wrap it
around your wrist! HEY!!.. Maybe you could get it magnetized then it it
would be like one of those cure all bracelets sold by the guys that sell
snake oil!! HH...bar snake...snake oilI wonder?

Just an FYI on this subject. I just got a Jacket and pants from First
Racing. The one page ad in one of the cycle magazines. The jacket is
absolutely beautiful ! For $209 it can't be beat. The pants were $125 and
are also excellent. Ordered them from Alamo leathers in Mechanicburg Pa.
717 737-1900. They were good about returns. I ordered a large 46-48 and
medium 42-44. The medium was cut just right for me (long arms) 6'0 195. I
sent the large back. Tell 'em Stan sent you.
