Guix 1.0.1 is now finally available on openSUSE Tumbleweed :) The reviewing took very long and so version 1.0.0 never went through... Sadly Guix 1.0.x can't be find on openSUSE Leap 15.x/SLES 15 anymore as it requires Guile 2.2. They will stay on Guix 0.16 :( Hint: I also maintain a Guix version build from master commits (updated once ore twice a week) at: https://build.opensuse.org/project/show/home:jbrielmaier:guix If you encounter any issues with Guix on (open)SUSE feel free to reach me out (by mail or in freenode as jonsger). Happy hacking Jonathan

Re: Lightning talk at IPFS camp
Update: I've been asked if I wanted to conduct a "Deep dive" (https://github.com/ipfs/camp/blob/master/DEEP_DIVES/README.md) about IPFS and Guix. In other words: what problem we've encountered, how to solve them, what we'd like to do. I think it would be a good time to discuss a work out bug 33899 "[PATCH 0/5] Distributing substitutes over IPFS" that Ludovic submitted a while ago. What do you people think? Ludovic, what are the most pressing issues with this patch that you'd like to raise? Cheers! -- Pierre Neidhardt https://ambrevar.xyz/ signature.asc Description: PGP signature

And yes, since then I’ve listened to other episodes and as others said, there’s always a lot to learn and it’s pleasant to listen to! Ludo’.

Yes, I have a USB DVD writer on my Guix machine--works fine (/dev/sr0). pgpGcutlqcRZ2.pgp Description: OpenPGP digital signature

If you see /dev/sr0, then I guess it counts. Thanks for reporting. -- Pierre Neidhardt https://ambrevar.xyz/ signature.asc Description: PGP signature
