I like the Tarte 4-day stay mascara. It's pricey, but it stands up to my allergy eyes, and I've even gone swimming with no smears. For safety sake, you shouldn't keep a mascara for more than 6 months; many opthomologists suggest that 3 months is safer. Bacteria can build up in the package and give you a nasty eye infection.
