Thank you so much for that link! I have seen both films and loved the
costuming. It's great that he mentions attention to detail for the making of
the costumes. If you live around the Los Angeles area, these costumes are
usually in exhibit at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising around
April. Go if you can and see them close up!

For starching--I only did a doily, so maybe it wouldn't scale up--I mixed a
it of starch with some cold water zapped the mixture in the microwave.
ixing in cold water works immensely better than trying dry starch in hot water,
hat I do have experience attempting.

There is a link here to a video which was shown this morning during the
BC's Breakfast programme. It shows a costume workshop in London,
here the costumes were made for films nominated for the Oscar for Best
ostume Design this year. The workshop places great stress on
uthenticity, so I think you will enjoy it.
