Re: [h-cost] Jaw Dropping: Final Price for Debbie Reynolds costumes
I saw a news report on the forthcoming sale on BBC breakfast news before I read the first discussion of it here (but I only get the list in digest form on my work computer). I think they just said that her plan to set up a museum had fallen through. Re: [h-cost] Jaw Dropping: Final Price for Debbie Reynolds costumes
I saw an article last weekend (just before the sale) about Debbie and her collection. In the interview, she said she could no longer afford to care for and store the costumes and the funding for the proposed museum just wasn't coming through. Although she hates to give up the collection, she decided that it just had to be done. Ginni Morgan penn...@costumegallery.com 6/22/11 10:55 PM You are welcome Julie. Re: [h-cost] Jaw Dropping: Final Price for Debbie Reynolds costumes
So why didn't she just sell a couple of the costumes and use the money to fund the museum? [h-cost] Jaw Dropping: Final Price for Debbie Reynolds costumes
Thanks for sharing the catalog and the final results link. Was this not well publicized? I didn't hear a word beforehand. I saw her collection when she had it at her casino in Vegas. It was awesome and I loved it. It must have broken her heart to give up on her dream of a costume museum. Did anybody see the final total from the sale? To whom are the profits going? I couldn't see who bought the items. Did the collection get spread all over the world or did a few museums get the bulk?
