Re: [h-cost] the name of an embroidery technique
Trupunto is a technique where a 3d effect is achieved by layering or creating puckered lines around a shape. It can be over cording, cloth of a different color or batting. It is often done with thread of the same color as the top layer of cloth. It's it's own embellishment treatment. Lots of time but the effect is well worth the effort.Sincerely, Rebecca Rautine> Date: Mon, 25 Aug 2008 13:03:53 -0700> From: [EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: [h-cost] the name of an embroidery technique> > I believe you are talking about trapunto. I think the name starts with a t, but am not sure... You're not finding it because it's a quilting technique. I think "trapunto" is what you're looking for. It can be done with roving, but is often done using fuzzy bulky yarn and a big crewel needle (easier to work). andy ___ h-costume mailing list h-costume@mail.indra.com http://mail.indra.com/mailman/listinfo/h-costume

Re: [h-cost] the name of an embroidery technique
Ah, perfect. Thanks! I was looking around yesterday and Sat on the internet, hoping that I would come across the name and a light bulb would go off, but no luck. Makes it much easier to find example if i can at least remember the name.
