I guess I'll be here for awhile. As to Sylivia's question: The other lists
that come to mind are mostly on Yahoo - Yahoo has a whole slew of them. If you
are not familiar with Yahoo, email me offline for some tips on finding and
deciding whether to join a group.

There is another group of them - someone else will be able to direct you
specifically because I can't find them myself - they are hosted by an email
server that is something like MEDCO.

I belong to some period-specific lists, and I plan to stay on this
one as well.

Although it covers time periods and places that I'm not doing,
h-Costume keeps me in touch with a larger group of people who are
like-minded. Research, finding fabrics, challenges in fit and
construction are common to any era of costume. Learning about eras
on either side of my time period is useful, and I'm just plain
curious about all eras.

On this list, I can read about the accomplishments of others — things
I would miss if I stuck to lists of one particular time period.

Thank you everyone for being here!

I've joined a number of period specific lists and find I'm not getting
much out of them. Traffic is light and it can be weeks between posts,

aren't like that ( I hope!) but the ones I joined are. I much prefer
H-Cost with the rich variety of discussion and the cross pollination of
topics. I only recreate a few historic eras but I enjoy reading about
 the others.

That's pretty much my experience as well.
