Acpi bug probably. Does halt do the same?

If you are comfortable with losing data then by all means run beta
software. If you're not comfortable with that, don't. 

Currently, it looks as if Oracle Linux will be the first to ship with
btrfs as the default file system, which should make for interesting
reading.
