Viime viikko kului Madeiralla. Ilmat oli ihan mukavat, mutta dx-mielessä vaatimaton reissu. Tsekkasin saaren mw-asemat: kaikki muut olivat äänessä paitsi Estacao Radio de Madeira, 1485 kHz. Aseman FM-taajuus oli myös hiljaa. Ja kun kävin katsomassa toimitaloa, se oli tyhjillään. Hei! Asema on todennäköisesti WCKY Cincinnati OH. Löysin vanhasta NRC:n DX-Newsistä lokauksen, jossa aseman kerrottiin käyttäneen slogania 13-60 Homer, the Sports Animal. KSCJ ei ole myöskään pois laskuista, koska nuo urheiluasemat tuntuvat vähän väliä vaihtavan slogania ja ketjua, mutta todennäköisin on WCKY. NRC:n lehdissä on uutistoimittajan kannalta vaikeutena se, että kaikki uusia sloganeja ja muuta tietoa sisältävät asemat eivät ole oikealla paikalla Station news and notes, vaan satojen tavallisten lokausten joukossa. Niiden läpikäyminen on ainakin minulle ylivoimainen tehtävä. Nyt olen lopettanut DX Newsin tilaamisen, koska netistä löytyy niin paljon tietoa. Aina kuitenkin on tapauksia, jolloin vanhoista lehdistä löytyy vastaus parhaiten. Terv.
