I´m pretty positive I heard R IRAQ INT. last Wednesday March 19 on 11787 kHz around 21-2 UTC in Arabic.Signal was weak and reception quite poor.It was thatobvious I did not made any remarks in my log book. There was actually some modulation today, but very, very low and only perceptible on music peaks and occasional voice peaks. The transmitter goes off the air around 1300 UTC and returns around 1600 UTC - that has been the case for the past two days. The carrier is strong here in The Netherlands, but you need to use USB mode to avoid Cairo on 11785. Very briefly this evening the modulation improved enough for me to make a short recording. Shortly afterwards I also recorded Information Radio on 9715, which was running neck and neck with DW Russian, and occasionally overriding it! Hi Pascal. On 21 Mar at 1940 on 4085 there is (have been a couple of years I recall) the Voice of Iraqi Kurdistan in Arabic. The Voice of Iraqi Liberation is at the same time on 4025.5 kHz. Yes, 20 Mar during UT daytime also here for several hours a blank carrier on 11787. Couldn't trace any audio on several random checks. Today, 21 Mar at 0930 the same carrier on 11787 again. On 11785 there is an Arabic speaking station with Islamic chants and talks. On 21 Mar at 1000 there seems to be two Arabic stations on 11785. First one with Islamic chants/talks seems to be Cairo and the weaker one gave an ID that sounds like Saudi Arabia. [HCDX] 4785 Voice of Iraqi People - subharmonic
Hello, today my first report to HCDX: 4785 kHz, Voice of Iraqi People, yesterday 20/03/03 after 20.30 UTC til 21.50 UTC (then Hohhot signing on that frequency), lots of communiques, patriotic Arabic songs, various IDs, parallel to 9570 (4875 subharmonic of this) which was actually weaker due to unfavourable propagation conditions, on 9563 only some hummy spurs no signal to be copied there. Signal on 4785 best received in USB, SINPO 24342 or 20dB/ 1uV. On 21 Mar on 5005 at 2025 a strong station with African music. As I suspected, they announced (in Spanish) Radio Nacional Radio Bata. The ID mentioned frequences (I hope I got them all correct) FM 98 and 102 and SW 5005 and 15190. Hope they will stay on the air now for at least a few months :). I have noted traffic/ tel patch on 15016 thurs 1542, tk on having a bird strike, and a bad fuel flow. guage in no 1 engine, and tk on "packages" A def military type voice at the end of the link with HILDA, and tk on McGuire and Ramstein.. Also noted American Virgin Islands WDHP a couple of nights real strong on 1620, wed 19th @ 0145 good, when no sign of any other x banders. Thurs @ 0200 WDHP again, as well as 1680 WTIR and some other X banders available that night. Friday 2230, IRAQ tv still on air 13deg E HOTBIRD satellite. There is a strong carrier again and a very weak modulation. I heard what could be a revolutionary song, then a short announcement by a man, mentioning Iraq, Saddam, (Basra?), Allah Akhbar and ID Idha'at (jumhuryya?) al-'Iraq min Baghdad at 07:28:20 UTC. You have to use headphones, the modulation is really very weak... but it seems it is getting stronger now at 0735...
