Peru, 5939.29, Radio Melodia, Presumed, 0929-0955 Noted all talk in Spanish until 0938 when canned promos presented. Signal is very weak, but this morning the noise is subdued slightly allowing some copying. Also a het caused by Radio Rossii(presumed) on 5940KHz, makes copy difficult. Add splatter from station on 5935 KHz when music is played. John, what they are saying is that it´s not them but that you will be able to get their station via the internet real soon. (tendrás la radio = you will be getting the radio). If I were you, I´d check with WLCC to see if it is them. [HCDX] RJR Montego Bay 550 kHz.
Getting a very fine signal out of the Caribbean tonight. At 0110 UT, RJR Montego Bay was quite listenable with no fading over nearly 20 minutes on 550 kHz., MW. It was a phone-in sports show discussing Jamaica's World Cup team. There also was an ad at around 0125 UT for touring The Grenadines. The signal slowly weakened over about a three minute period until it was unheard at 0127 UT, but it began to rise again to a very nice level by 0129 UT. Curiously, I could not hear this one at all on my Drake R8A tethered to an Alpha-Delta DX sloper. However, I was hearing it as described on my rather ancient Grundig Satellit 210 (TR6001) with the Select-a-tenna. Go figure.
