** NORTH AMERICA. 6869.916 AM, July 16 at 0646, unID pirate with
novelty song, S9/+10 as measured now; earlier also at 0419 same level
with country/rock song. More logs this date, never any IDs:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,115988.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6935- AM, slightly on low side, July 16 at 0420, JBA
music, only pirate besides 6870-; many reports here as All Azteca
Relay Service, 0304-0434* on 6934.968:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,115985.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. RF 31, July 16 at 1515 UT, tropo blob over eastern OK
brings us KOET ``3`` Eufaula, drop-in OETA relay the only signal
decoding, and all four channels for a while, unlike HQ KETA 13 ``13``
inferior VHF, which often has insufficient signal at this fringe of
its coverage area from OKC. Program is `Doc Martin` as the final
season #9 is finally airing here; we`ll watch the repeat UT Monday at
0300, having also missed the first run UT Friday at 0200.

Bandscan now also gets BAD signals on: RF 10, 11, 14, 17, 18, 20, 21,
22, 28, 34, 36. AND NO signal at all on RF 7 from KOCO ``5`` OKC -- is
it off? Often insuff into my antenna; by 1620 it`s increased to Bad.
17 is never solid K17JN-D Enid 3ABN satellator any more: suspect it`s
underpowered, not needing any DX to ruin it. Note also 18, as KOPX
``62`` OKC must be Baddened by DX QRM now, soon recovered (Glenn
Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** SINGAPORE. 12025, July 1

[HCDX] Ian McFarlands birthday

2023-07-16 Thread R. Colin Newell
Ian celebrates his birthday this week!
As many of you know, Ian had a great career with Radio Canada International.

Living a quiet retirement in Duncan, B.C., Ian remains active in the community.

My wife and I are having lunch with him next weekend. Please send along your
birthday wishes and I’ll pass them along.

** SINGAPORE. 12025, July 16 at 1502, NO signal from BBCWS relay in
English, as the Kranji site has been deleted as of the date long
expected from HFCC info, despite own incompetent announcements for at
least a week that it would be gone from ``tomorrow``. Numerous WOR iog
monitors found other frequencies terminated as of 2359 UT July 15.
Also, traces of something still on 12025, ChiCom jammer?

This situation has been a hot topic on the WOR iog. At Switzerland in
Sound, of all places, Keith Perron asserted that the real reason is
expiration of the lease on land of the site; Singapore wants it back
for other purposes (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 13566.40, July 16 at 0413, HIFER beacon RVA is JBA vs CODAR.
Is Richmond VA, heard before but rarely. Exact frequency from LWCA
roster; I had only 13566.5 approx. Says operator is unknown (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2199 monitoring: confirmed UT
Sunday July 16 at 0030 on WRMI 7780, VP into Maryland SDR with HSNL,
and noise QRM blast first 14 seconds; S9/+10 however into Durango2
México SDR. Usually best at Maurice, Louisiana which was tied up.
Those lucky central Americans in the boresight of this SW from Okee
unlike those of us in N America.

Also confirmed UT Sunday July 16 from 0311 on WA0RCR, 1860 AM MO,
S9+15 into nearby SDR with HSNL altho radar shows none nearby.

Also confirmed Sunday July 16 at 1356 the 1330 on WRMI 9955, only
airing left on WRMI-3, S5/S8, no jamming audible. This is also the
only time available via WRMI.net webcast and even phonecast:
+1-641-741-1762 Next:

2000 UT Sunday IRRS 1323 & 918? & 207?-Italy
0030 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to SW
0300vUT Monday WBCQ Area 51 6160v to WSW
0030 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW
2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW
2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW
0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW

No new contributions this week by MO or check in US funds on a US bank
to:
Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702

One may also contribute via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds to:
woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1130 kHz, July 16 at 0700 UT, KLEY Wellington KS, break in
rock music for legal multi-station ID along with KKLE 1550 and several
FMs including translators, including its own ``The Wave`` on 100.3.
KLEY has been cheating illegally for months, obviously with at least
250 W day power instead of licensed ONE WATT at night, typically way
over 50 kW KWKH LA which beams west from Shreveport. It seems FCC
doesn`t care unless KWKH complain (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
