** COLOMBIZUELA. 4940, Aug 13 at 0707, JBA carrier vs HSNL, so Station
4940 is back on air after missing since Aug 9; also heard earlier
tonight by Manuel Méndez, Spain (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 9700, Sunday Aug 13 at 0714, S9+10 of off-mike sounds, like
footsteps, someone left it on in a studio, also some JBA jazz music.
No doubt the only overtime RHC frequency tonight during the weekly
semihour when Esperanto is supposed to emit on 49mb like 6100.
Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** MEXICO. 6200 AM, Aug 13 around 0700, JBA carrier, presumed R.
Eastern Star pirate. Seems we have been right in filing under NORTH
AMERICA rather than USA, as RUS-DX quotes the operator as saying he is
in Choya Bay, Mexico -- that`s an expat town just north of Puerto
Peñasco, Sonora, NW Mexico, rather than SW USA. Of course we only have
his word for it, could be misdirexion. Or spelt Cholla (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** NIGERIA [non]. 17735.002+, Sunday August 13, no signal into UTwente
until cut on at *1900 sharp during African song with drumming, VG
S9+15/20 out of Woofferton UK. Frequency seems to cycle 1 Hz between
.002 and .003, later .001 and .002. 1902 Yoruba by wild announcer.
1905.5 in English, ``Yoruba Nation Radio-Television ... YNRT``, 1906
songs. Back to YY assuming to be only, leave on in background. 1934
realize it`s English, guy alternating langs one sentence to another.
Keeps talking about prayer and god -- must be a religionist, even
Christian. ``Nigeria is a rotten place -- let us get out``. 1939
another segment all in English. Lots of spirited talk; maybe more
English bits mixed in with heavy accents. UTwente keeps cutting off
and on, annoying.

Scheduled Sat & Sun only. 19-20. BTW, once again no signal out of
Nigeria itself around 0700 Aug 13 on 7255- (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Thanks this week to Kenneth Brookner for a generous contribution via
PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com, ``Thanks for all of the WOR since
1975. It`s really nice to see you still at it and I`m enjoying working
my way back through the podcasts.``

One may also contribute via MO or check on a US bank in US funds to:

** U S A. 5130.17 approx., August 13 at 0710, rock music, S9/+15 vs
HSNL, WBCQ test direct again tonight. Earlier on Aug 13, Uncle Bill
Tilford replied to my previous: ``Uncle Bill comments: Not impossible
that a show like John's or Marion's, playing 78s in the wee hours,
might work. Right now there is some spoken word at 0258 UTC and it's
touch and go. Incidentally, the speakers are anything BUT pro-Trump.``
