Antarctica for a Spanish report with recorded audio sent in March;

I just had to share with readers how well LRA36 from Argentinian Antarctica
came in tonight right up to it's sign-off at 03:00 UTC.  Amazing reception
for a reported 1 kW power.  Recorded in Masset, BC off the back end of a
290 deg DKAZ antenna!   Enjoy!

using 6 element log periodic which is 862 feet ASL on Bald Hill in Douglas,MA. 
Receiver is a Palstar R30A.On Jan.5 loigged KB5NJD and KE7A. Both in Texas( 
Grid EM12) on 475 khz WSPR mode.

ANTARCTICA   LRA 36 on air today earlier than other days, clear signal
at moments here in Friol Spain.

LRA 36, 15476 kHz, open today earlier than other days, heard 1000-1045 UT,
Sept 26, songs in English detected with clear signal, here in Friol, at 1031
UT song "Happy", by Pharrell Williams. Some songs in Spanish. Strong fading,
at moments clear signal and at moments de audio disappears. Seems that LRA
36 is increasing the transmission time with respect to past weeks.

ANTARTIC ARGENTINA

15.475.95 21.02UT, LRA36 National Radio Arcangel San Gabriel, Base Esperanza, 
closes transmissions today March 2, at 21.02UT.
In summary, the broadcast was at times quite acceptable, audible, with low 
signal but with openings that let you listen to your music in Spanish with ease 
in USB mode.

Opening at 18.15UT and closing, at 21.02UT. SINPO 25332.
We must assume that their emissions will be from Monday to Friday. Remember 
that in our southern hemisphere we are closing the summer and the days, 
especially in Antartica, are slowly with less sunlight.

ANTARCTICA, 15476, LRA36, Radio Nacional Arcángel San Gabriel, Base Esperanza. 
Due to the mail I have received from LRA 36 saying that this station will 
return to the air on 27th July, I am trying, since then,  to pick up this 
station all days between 1950 and 2020 UTC, the best slot time to received it 
here in the North West of Spain, but I heard nothing, only one day I got a very 
weak carrier on 15.476.0 during five or six minutes. Yesterday, I sent a new 
e-mail to the station, asking if they really are now on air, and here is the 
answer:

“Estimado Manuel, la transmisión ya comenzó la semana pasada, y es mas, tuvimos 
un informe de reception desde Taranto-Italia. Atte. Sergio Lucero”.

 They confirm that the transmission began past week and they had had a 
reception report from Tatanto-Italy.

trying to gain strength, switched to USB, and checking 1 kHZ above and below, 
tone clearly pointed to this freq.  Just barely heard at times: talk by OM 
2057, song at 2059, and signal off at 2103.  Encouraging that first time heard 
here in S CT on a DX-440 without external antenna; will have to monitor over

Hi all;

Since we have a long weekend (Victoria Day) here in Canada, I have had the 
chance to check out LRA36.  Well, despite the lightning crashes they have been 
heard.

ANTARCTICA:  LRA36 Radio Nacional at tune in 1920 UTC with Argentine romantic 
country music.  Not the tangos heard during the RAE broadcasts.  From 1930-1935 
full ID in multiple languages, of course if there was an English one I missed 
it grabbing for the headphones.  At 1935 to 1943 there seemed to be a newscast 
with sweepers or jingles between items.  Back to the music at 1943.  Poor with 
deep fades and lightning QRN.  Will keep and ear on this to see if any 
improvement in signal happens before s/off.

My last report for LRA36 Radio Nacional should have mentioned the frequency, 
that being 15476 kHz.  Heard best between 2030 and 2100.  No multi language ID 
at 2030 though nor even at 2000.  Music and announcements continued to s/off at 
2100 UTC without any formal s/off announcement.  Nice readable signal if not 
for the lightning crashes. May 21/07

After your first e-mail, I wasn't sure if you were going to stay with it or 
not.  Usually, LRA36 gets better around 2030 to 2100 sign off.  With Memorial 
Day on Monday, I'll have to put this on my target for the holiday.
