at 1020 UT Jan 19 in Greek language,
in southern Germany, both signals of S=9+15dB signal strength.

9420.006 accurate fq, though clean audio signal.

9934.989 odd frequency, noted faulty tx audio outlet, 
annoying 100 Hertz BUZZ audio observed again.

GREECE   11644.941v  Annoying BUZZ tone accompanied the S=8-9 ERT audio
signal from Avlis here in southern Germany at 0915 UT on Aug 14.
[selected SDR options, span 12.5 kHz RBW 15.3 Hertz]

BUZZ signal like GARDEN FENCE showed in Perseus browser screen
12 x accompanied buzz spur peak signals - each sideband - peaks at
247 Hertz apart distance ... and 494 Hertz apart, and so on like fence each
sideband.

At 0915 UT Aug 14 on both 9420.005 kHz S=9+10dB,
and 11644.941v kHz S=8-9 fair signal strength in Germany, 
but S=9+10dB in Moscow, Russia on 182 degrees north-south azimuth 
curtain antenna.


Nothing noted on either 9935, 15630, nor 15650 kHz channels.

 signal from Avlis here in southern Germany at 0915 UT on Aug 14.
 [selected SDR options, span 12.5 kHz RBW 15.3 Hertz]

 BUZZ signal like GARDEN FENCE showed in Perseus browser screen
 12 x accompanied buzz spur peak signals - each sideband - peaks at
 247 Hertz apart distance ... and 494 Hertz apart, and so on like fence each
 sideband.

 At 0915 UT Aug 14 on both 9420.005 kHz S=9+10dB,
 and 11644.941v kHz S=8-9 fair signal strength in Germany, but S=9+10dB in
 Moscow, Russia on 182 degrees north-south azimuth curtain antenna.

 Nothing noted on either 9935, 15630, nor 15650 kHz channels.

5049.990 WWRB TOM Brother Stair on Spirit + Culture at 0338 UT, S=9+10dB
in Germany.

5085.000 WTWW music / singer program, ID at 0340 UT email @ wtww.us

5109.723 main peak and UPPER SIDEBAND signal visible, WBCQ TOM Brother Stair
sermon at 0343 UT July 21. And another strange lower peak 'seen' on 5109.626
kHz too. S=8 signal across the atlantic here in southern Germany.

\\ TOM also on WWRB on 3185.000 kHz just on threshold heard spoken fragments 
at 0350 UT.


Different English program on 3215.000 kHz S=8-9 fluttery signal at 0352 UT,
talk about European unions, and economists, debts, inflation promises
discussion, WWCR Nashville?  Powerful China these days.

CANADA   3330 CHU Ottawa Canada S=8 time signal pips and some digital data
burst in between. 0353 UT.

CUBA  4765  Radio Progreso Bejucal, fluttery S=9+10dB signal at 0355 UT, but 
hit heavily by some CODAR steady bursts, broadband and in portions in 4766 
to 4913 kHz range.

BUZZ signal like GARDEN FENCE showed in Perseus browser screen
9 x accompanied buzz spur peak signals - each sideband - peaks at
279.6 Hertz / 559.3 ... Hertz apart distance ... up to 2796 Hertz apart
distance, each sideband.

Nothing noted on either 11645, 15630, nor 15650 kHz channels.

In response to my post and recording yesterday, TheGreekRadio.com commented on 
the 
current state of the Voice of Greece:

“After the forceful eviction of the redundant ERT employees from the Radio 
House in 
Athens, the shortwave frequencies no longer transmit the normal program of 
Voice of 
Greece as there is no such service produced in Athens.  This happened on the 
7th of 
November, when you probably noticed the station ID change.

Mediumwave and shortwave frequencies have been now set to relay the radio 
program of 
“Radio Station of Macedonia” by the redundant employees of ERT3, from 
Thessaloniki. 
(This used to be the independent program relayed for a few hours before 
midnight on 
7,450 until June’s ERT switch-off, when phone lines were cut and the “guerilla” 
program started). They keep doing a full program during the day, but being 
unemployed, it seems that they cannot carry on overnight.

The official interim public radio (one single service for entire Greece) so far 
does 
not care for [the take] over [of] the shortwave and mediumwave resources in 
Athens. 
Probably they do not have the staff to operate them, as only the necessary 
personnel 
was hired to keep the single radio service running on FM.”

Thus it looks like VOG’s shortwave service might be easily cut–and without 
warning. 
We already know that the Greek government is considering dismantling the Alvis 
transmitting site.

GREECE  On Oct 6th at 0240 UT heard Voice of Greece on 7475 kHz S=9+15dB
signal, 9420 kHz S=9+30dB signal here in Germany.

7475 left the air approx. 0255 UT,

9420 left the air for short periode around 0258-0300 UT,
but latter came back on air at 0300 UT with different
antenna azimuth, decreased signal here in Germany then.

But NO TRACE of 3rd channel, at least no propagation at my post.

Nothing heard on 11645 and 15630 kHz either, but on 15650 kHz noted US Radio 
Liberty Uzbek sce from Udorn Thani Thailand just above

threshold.

[HCDX] Voice of Greece 09-10 UT July 16, 15650 (x15630) kHz

VoGRC Avlis stopped at 09.59:45 UT today, for usual 10-11 UT break,
and was followed co-channel by DWL interval signal of DWL German service via
Trincomalee Ceylon relay towards South East Asia and Pacific. 73 wb


GREECE   I've just heard Radio Filia's French programme this Thursday July
14 at 0930-1000 UT (1230-1300 local time in Greece). At the end, they said
that from July 15th, new times will be in effect. French will be at 1030
local time (so should be at 0730 UT). Nothing heard about the other
transmissions.

15650  But noted Voice of Greece in Greek at 09-10 UT July 16 on 15650 kHz
instead of regular 15630 kHz, // 9420 kHz. The Asian immigrants program on
Saturdays only heard on 11645 kHz, like Bangladesh Community Program or
Filipino Community Program.

In most cases there does not need to be any doubt about what is a relay and 
what is not. Just consult online references for the current (B-10) schedules, 
such as HFCC, Aoki and EiBi. These are linked from my homepage

No, Greece is not relayed by Canada (or anywhere). 9420 is certainly VOG 
direct. Lately apparently due to strike as in my previous post they have 
abnormally been playing non-Greek music (and no/fewer announcements?).

Vietnam is relayed via Canada (only if you hear it on 6175 evenings). They also 
have other relays and direct broadcasts.

CRI has numerous relays as well as direct broadcasts. Just look up the time and 
frequency in the lists. If you are primarily interested in the programming, the 
relays often provide better reception on the other worldside, so they are good 
thing from that standpoint.

Some listeners don`t know or don`t care whether they are hearing a relay or 
not, so don`t specify as such.

Voice of Greece ERA-5 and ERT-3 regional service heard on three channels
again today Jan 22nd. 3rd tx at Avlis site was on repair since Dec 27, 2009.

In 6-10 UT slot only two frequencies in use. ERA-5, The Voice of Greece, ERT
S.A., today Fri Jan 22, at 0800 UT ERA-5 in Greek language on both 9420 and
12105 kHz (not 15630 kHz).

9420 kHz S=9+20dB, 12105 kHz S=9+40dB powerhouse signal here in southern
Germany.

At 1150 UT noted three Greek language transmissions from Avlis.

ERA-5 on both 9420 kHz S=9+20dB and 15650 kHz S=9+10dB, and weakest signal 
from Avlis site on ERT-3 regional Thessaloniki relay 9935 kHz with S=9 pure.

GREECE  11645  VoGreece foreign service outlets, like domestic touristic 
program relay of Radio Fileia of local MW 666! and FM 107 MHz via 11645 
faced now more regularity today. 0600-1000 UT. Also Albanian, En, Fr, Sp, 
German 0900 and Russian 0930-1000 UT with 5 mins newscast at the bc start 
and further more music cultural program. So this Radio Filea relay on 
shortwave is regularly on Wed to Mon. On Tuesday off air, due Avlis tx site 
maintenance day.

GREECE   11645  Voice of Greece again in German and Russian.
Way of living is something different in the Mediterranean.

Today Wed March 28th - 3rd day of new season - at 0900-1000 UT Voice of
Greece Athens started again relaying touristic information domestic service
Radio Filea of the local mediumwave odd666[not 665] and FM 107 MHz.
0900-0930 UT in German, and 0930-1000 UT in Russian.

Announcement is not perfect yet, station still announces winter frequency of
15630 kHz instead.

Is not clear yet whether Mon, Wed, Thur, Fri, - or at Saturdays too service.
On Tuesdays OFF, is maintenance day at tx site Avlis.

On Sundays bcasting usually Greek Orthodox Divine sce, in \\ to 9420 and
15630 kHz Avlis, and 9935 kHz via Olympia radio relay at Pyrgos maritime
station. Latter is 4 seconds behind Avlis transmissions.
