Re: [HCDX] What happened to Radio 4KZ today?

Art,

Per numerous reports in DX Listening Digest, it`s normal. 4KZ is turned off by
a clock timer, which slips a few seconds earlier every day, if you keep track
of it.

I was listening to the bit of audio I could
hear from 4KZ this morning (U.S. Eastern time) when the
signal suddenly disappeared.  I was a little too taken
aback to record the exact time, but it was about 1151 UTC.

A check of Solomon Islands BC on 5020
kHz showed that their signal remained very good.

So what happened at 4KZ?  Hope
 everyone and everything is ok.

Thanks! But I really do hope to come up with something better in the way of a
report.

HI Arthur, just read your log of Radio 4 KZ so sent it onto the man! AL Kirton
is Radio 4KZ
up there in North Queensland Australia.

Al is one of the new few stations that offer QSL cards or even an reply.

John

Australia – Radio 4KZ, 5055 kHz – presumed to be the one here from 1112 fade-in
to 1145 fade-out. Poor signal, deep in the noise. Could hear pop vocals, then
a male anncr at 1127, and back to pop vocals. I wasn’t able to discern any
actual words, or even be sure of the language. Hoping for better tomorrow!
