After a month away, good S5-S4 into Brasil remote with Ant?rtida theme song as I intune, more and more songs until 1542 ``a partir de este momento`` as if signing-on, multilingual IDs including English just to inform us that the broadcast is in Spanish; historical talk about Mendoza and San Mart?n, subject of today`s `El Lejano Sur` program, i.e. not about Antarctica at all, per se. 1544 Anta. song again; 1545 produxion credit for this `Wednesday` show; current? weather: low -26 C, can`t copy the high. Contact info including whatsapp, phone, correo, etc. 1551 QRM? from some beeps and tones, V only briefly. 1556 `Nacional, la Radio P?blica` ID; 1613 ID and contact info again, more of same past 1654 Anta. song again; and still past 1714, but since 1606 I`m mainly listening to `The Score` cinemusic on KUCO, and then the opera. Meanwhile, I see that Manuel M?ndez, Lugo, Spain had posted this at 1302: ``The LRA 36 team informed via whatsapp that they will be on air today Saturday, 15476usb, at 1400 hours after they fixed the fault they had in the station antenna`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CANADA. 340-MCW kHz, Sept 4 at 0648 UT, dash and YY, no QRM from 341 EI Enid still off; 500 watts from Mont Joli, Qu?bec, 2761 km = 1715 statute miles; far beyond Qu?bec city on the Gasp?. Only other Canadian, common 332 QT Thunder Bay. Also several closer Unitedstatesians logged in this session, q.v. (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CANADA. 6754-USB, Sept 4 at 0244, 0247, 0254, 0307 chex, no VOLMET signal from Trenton Military, CHR. On WOR 2102 I mention that day frequency 15034-USB is not being heard unlike night frequency; but now it`s gone too. It would seem that a single transmitter serve both when operable, but EiBi, where SSB is never specified, shows a schedule overlap: 6754 at 2310-1100, 15034 at 1010-2400. Did anyone ever hear both of them at same time between 2310-2400, or 1010-1100? Or do those numbers allow for irregular switchover times. Also, didn`t the ``schedule`` include regular hourly breaks like some other VOLMETS, rather than continuous? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CHINA. 11650, Sept 4 at 1428, Chinese opera? off-key singing, and talk; scheduled this hour is CRI in Amoy via Kunming. Poor with flutter. No CNR1 jammers heard now around 11 or 13 MHz (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. 338-MCW, Sept 4 at 0649 UT, ND beacon TU, which is 30 watts from TUlsa, seldom heard and wonder if operable only sporadically. I was tuned to 336-USB. See also CANADA and USA (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. RF-7, UT Sept 4 at 0433, only BAD signal from KOCO ``5``, OKC ABC ``local``, not enough to decode via STB nor direct into Sanyo screen; same problem yesterday. Other OKC TVs normal, mostly UHF. Must be on reduced power unless my antenna have broken; no, by 1645 UT Sept 4, back in sufficiently, altho signal meter shows not full strength (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** U S A. Some ND beacons again audible, amid storm crashes from Kansas, fortunately not enough of those to overlap into continuous: 293-MCW, Sept 4 at 0652 UT, FBY, 25 watts at Fairbury, Nebraska, a regular in the winter, not heard summerly for months 338-MCW, TU Tulsa: see OKLAHOMA 340-MCW, YY Quebec: see CANADA 347-MCW, Sept 4 at 0647 UT, AFK, 25 watts from Nebraska City NE (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 13565-CW, Sept 4 at 1427, HIFER beacon K6FRC IDs repeated vs CODAR, 1.8 milliwatts from Patterson CA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. I listened for the first few minutes after 0400 UT, both on my R75 with E-W longwire and on my rotatable DX-398, where WMT dominated as usual, and nulling it, mostly KTBB in Texas. I might have detected your code IDs or sweeps, but I did definitely get your DX test in 2016, so instead I went online and tried some remote KiwiSDRs: the ones in Orlando and Tampa are deaf! Nothing on 600, could you believe it. However I am hearing it loud and clear via the one in Woodstock, Georgia. I want to hear what you are doing even if it`s not `DX` via the remote. So tonight`s details are via GA, and not direct! --- 0429 sweeps, S9+25 and dominating 600; 0433 announcement with reverb, to be on for a couple hours, 50 kW day pattern. E mail bo...@protonmail.com - old school audio processing except for the reverb. On for another hour or so; ``WBOB, Jacksonville, testing`` and music. 0441 about the audio equipment which seems to be the original reason for the test. Got an email from Broward county; mentions WMT, what is identity of the wobbler ruining WWL 870? --- It`s certainly one of the Cuban transmitters. Three are listed on 870, but no one seems to know which. Radio Reloj network, and one of the others provides the timesignal beeps also to be heard. 0453 VVV VVV VVV DE WBOB WBOB WBOB + several more lost count before K and back to music. Of course it`s no big deal to pick up WBOB in Georgia, altho I would not mind a QSL. However, I would be more interested in a QSL for my DX report of your test in *2016* when I really heard it direct to Enid OK. This is my report of it then: I don`t recall whether I also sent it to WBOB at that time. Times as always UT, in winter of course 5 hours ahead of EST rather than 4 hours ahead of EDT now: from 2016!!: ** U S A. 600, Jan 10 at 0545 UT on the R75 [from Brandon] with E/W longwire, first check for the WBOB Jacksonville FL DX test which started at 0500 UT. Really too much WMT on this antenna, so switch to DX-398 nulling WMT IA as much as possible, i.e. aiming SE instead of ESE, which leaves a mix of Cuba and who knows what. Soon I hear Morse code spelling out JACKSONVILLE, so I could stop right there; 0549 UT sweep tones; 0550 UT rising beeps, phone-off-hook pulses; 0554 UT fire alarm siren & bells; very slow Morse spelling out WBOB a few times; 0555 UT phone-off-hook; 0557 UT WBOB in Morse many times; 0558 UT sweeps upward; 0559 UT beeps upward; 0600 UT phone-off-hook; 0603 UT fire alarm; 0605 UT I hear a voice mention Jacksonville, but suspect it was coincidental at end of Fox ``news`` from WMT; etc., etc. Tnx for the test, reportedly with 35 kW non-direxional day power and ND pattern rather than 9.5 kW out into the Atlantic normally at night (Glenn Hauser, Enid OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) BTW, I also DXed some FM stations in the Jax area this summer, by sporadic E. Maybe some/one of them related to WBOB? I could also send a detailed report of those. Thanks and best wishes, Glenn Hauser WORLD OF RADIO P O Box 1684 Enid OK 73702`` One minute after sending this, I hear my name mentioned on the air at 0503! But does not refer to what I wrote. Nice selexion of music too, tho I did not note the details. Further log details: 0441 discussing audio equipment; email from Broward, mentions WMT as another great station; quoting me about the wobbler from Cuba. 0444 CW ID again VVV DE WBOB with repetitions. 0505 says objective is to go to all-tube-type audio chain avoiding digital distortion. But are they still a talk station? 0518 CW ID, 0529 sweeps and VVVs; 0535 `Stairway to Heaven`. 0543 mentions 33 rpm records? 0545 about to close with Sandy Patty`s `Star Spangled Banner`, but when she goes into an extra verse with lyrix I don`t recognize, she is cut off at 0548, more CW IDs. 0549 only snippets of other tunes: Rhapsody in Blue for less than a minute; 0550, 0551 others, ``In the Mood``. 0600 VVV DE WBOB IDs again, but still more music, Edith Piaf doesn`t regret anything, and it`s time for me to tune out. At 0557 I followed up to WBOB: ``Tnx for mentioning me one minute after I sent the email. I`ve also enjoyed your musical selections, but did not note down the details. I see in FCC info the only FM in Jax under same ownership is the 102.3 translator, I suppose of WBOB. Not sure if you have gone back to night facilities; the signal seems to have weakened into Georgia with more interference by 0555 UT, still music. Regards, Glenn Hauser, OK`` No reply to my mail by 1700 UT. Checking FCC listings, WBOB is owned by Chesapeake-Portsmouth Broadcasting; the only FM they own licensed to Jax is a 102.3 translator, does not show if it relay WBOB (AM). FCC AM Query has been very slow-loading lately. Previous calls of WBOB in reverse order: WBWL, WPDQ, WOKV back to 1981y. The DX host mentioned pulling music out of the dormant WPDQ record library. All this certainly a great improvement over WBOB normal format as of last year`s NRC AM Log: ``The Answer`` = far-right talk like 660 Dallas. This must be pre-empting `Red Eye Radio` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 6885-AM, UT Sat Sept 4 at 0242, JBA carrier, maybe trace of music, also at 0303, pirate? But nothing reported tonight on HF Underground. I had a similar log on Aug 21 UT Sat (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 1718 UT September 4 UNIDENTIFIED. 11690-11695-11700, Sept 4 at 1429, sounds like DRM noise. EiBi shows VOA Khmer via Philippines, not DRM, at 1330-1430. However, CNR1 Digital, CHINA is on 11695 at 0055-0900 so maybe that running a bit late, from Dongfang, Hainan as Aoki agrees (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ------------------------------ Message: 5 Date: Sat, 04 Sep 2021 19:12:55 +0000 From: Manuel M?ndez <manuelmend...@gmail.com> To: "DX WOR groups" <w...@groups.io> Subject: [HCDX] Stations heard in Reinante, NW of Spain Message-ID: <em49be0d40-ff1d-4fa4-ab77-5a438f4e8221@laptop-a6upglvr> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8; format=flowed Manuel M?ndez Lugo, Spain Logs in Reinante Tecsun S-8800 and PL-880, cable antenna, 8 meters ANTARCTICA, 15476usb, LRA 36, Radio Nacional Arc?ngel San Gabriel, Base Esperanza, 1708-1903, 04-09, songs in Spanish, at 1731 comments by female in Spanish and Base Esperanza song, id. by female heard at 1746: ?Radio Nacional Arc?ngel San Gabriel?, more songs, id. by male at 1754: ?Nacional, la radio p?blica?, id. by female at 1810: ?? por LRA 36, Radio Nacional Arc?ngel San Gabriel?, at 1828 song ?Gracias a la Vida? by Chilean singer Violeta Parra, ?Est?n escuchando El Lejano Sur por LRA 36...?, at 1859 song ?Un Velero llamado Libertad? by Spanish singer Jos?
