Re: [H] mac hard disk cloner
No problem, glad I could help! Naushad Zulfiqar wrote: Hey Ben, I'm glad to reply that SuperDuper! worked like a charm. In fact I am writing this e-mail from the new Toshiba 250GB Hard Disk. The Previous 120GB was a Seagate. Everything seems to be working fine and the cloning procedure was actually quite easy and painless. Thanks a bunch man!! You're a life saver!
[H] Deeply confused....Mobile dual-core or core 2 Centrino
I am completely confused these days, when it comes to figuring out what is what with processors, and I suppose that is by design. For example, I am comparing two processors in two different laptops which have a 80 dollar difference. Both are ACER laptops and they have the exact same hardware, and similar software. They have a slightly different look, one is from the Extensa family.. for office, and the other is an Aspire supposedly for home, and Media. But take away the case coloring and the only real difference is the CPU, and that doesn't appear to be much different either. The Extensia has a 1.83 Dual Core Mobile and the Aspire has a 2.0 Core 2 Mobile Centrino 2 ...but I get the feeling they are both Centrinos although only the Aspire advertises the fact. Centrino is not eve mentioned in the spec sheet. Look at the spec sheets side by side and I don't see much difference between the CPUs. http://tinyurl.com/5hl34f I see the Core 2 Duo has a tiny bit faster CPU, twice the cache, a little faster bus speed and a different Bus/Core Ratio and that's it or is it? Looking at this I would say they are from the same family and probably the Core 2 is a tiny bit faster ... like 10 -15 percent which isn't worth the 80 bucks or are their internal design features I am not seeing or aware of?

Winterlight, I do so love when any of us 'makes a phone call.' congrats 2U. I do agree. I read all this tech noise from Intel mostly as 'we really may kill all those o-clockers once and for all.' Perhaps I am wrong and way too global. JMHO. I live to see how this plays out. I need to buy a bunch also. All of my machine upgrades will be expensive Best, Duncan At 12:48 09/08/2008 -0700, you wrote: Well, this morning I need to make a decision so I called Intel. Mobile Core 2 Duo is a newer technology then Dual Core Mobile, and has a new set of instructions that supposidly makes the CPU quicker with better multimedia and wireless performance and longer battery life. For 80 bucks more I will probably go for it.
