3 things to help you along.

Use this to increase the BagMRU limit to 8000 folders.
BagMRU is where the view
settings are cached for the Most Recently Used
folders:

This VBS lets you set the Explorer columns for a given
folder & sets sub-folders
to same settings:

[H] MP3 Tag Informaton in XP

2008-02-19 Thread Steve Tomporowski
Somewhere along the line, I've noticed that the My Computer View in XP
gives me (sometimes) MP3 tag information in the file view. It also
gives the ability to change 'properties'. Great for checking if the
tags are up to snuff after ripping.

HOWEVER

This doesn't seem to be consistent. Sometimes it's done
automagically, other times the folder will have only MP3s, but all you
get is file info. Now I can go in by hand and change that by adding
and deleting columns, but that takes a long time to do. Is there any
way of either 1) Having it always give me tag info or 2) being able to
change it in one shot rather than have to diddle with columns?

I haven't looked closely at it yet, but just having that ability to
change tags outside of my Audio Collection program would be a sweet
thing
