My Condolences as well. Thinking about the time at ComDEX (Year has been forgotten) in Las Vegas when a lot of us met together. It was a great meeting and had fun as well. I did a batch of Dell PowerEdge R7525 boxes. Each has 2x EPYC 7543 (32C/64T, 2.8-3.7GHz) w/1TB RAM. Funny...I was randomly thinking of the HWG a few days ago when I was doing some email reorganization. Good to still see people kicking around. Like Steve, still running an old gpu, GTX 970 from ~2014/15 I think. I had half a thought to try to get a 3080 something but those prices are insane and they're still impossible to get. And 3xxxG APUs are still old Zen+ designs. Definitely annoying--not that Intel has been doing any better lately. That, too, has been fixed with the 5xxxG APUs, though I have other complaints with those chips. Either way, let's hope they remain consistent going forward. -Original Message- From: Hardware On Behalf Of James Boswell Sent: Monday, August 9, 2021 12:48 PM To: hardw...@lists.hardwaregroup.com Subject: Re: [H] Still alive? Still here! I hope everyone else is doing well.
Re: [H] Still alive?
Thanks, Greg. I'm assuming that AMD is doing like Intel and this is a 5th generation Ryzen. Looks like full circle again, I had all Athlon systems back when Thanks...Steve On 8/8/2021 12:39 AM, Greg Sevart wrote: My vote would be 5800X. I've got a 5600X, 5800X, and 5950X all in use. My vote would be 5800X. I've got a 5600X, 5800X, and 5950X all in use. Zen 3 is a beast. Still here. Thinking finally of building a Ryzen system. Which Ryzen processor is the sweet spot these days? Building a new system is fine, but I don't know when I could ever afford a video card again. Luckily I never sold my GTX 750. Steve On 8/7/2021 8:31 PM, Al A wrote: Still Alive? al
