Re: [H] cable modem
Well, in the past I have been always gone for special rebate or refurbish type deals on my networking equipment without caring all that much about performance, but I am ready to go high end because I am more interested in faster speeds, a more reliable connection and better wifi support. To that end I am planning on a new Netgear AC5300 Nighthawk X8 Tri-Band WiFi Router so I decided to go with the Netgear modem and I splurged on their fastest one for no particular reason except to future proof it = NETGEAR CM600 24x8 channel bonding enables up to 960 Mbps download speeds,Gigabit Ethernet port. I figured it would pair nicely and it was on sale. At 11:06 PM 9/8/2016, you wrote: The DOCSIS 3.0 modems can have different numbers of channels that they support. RE: [H] Cable modem
I second the SB5120. I did get maybe a 10-15% increase in reliably higher speeds over the one that Time Warner had given me. Although it only saves me $1/month off of my bill owning my own modem. [H] cable modem password ?
have a best data cable modem cmx300 trying to log on with 192.168.100.1 but the usual suspects for pw do not work. any clues ? or can this only be accessed by my provider ? fp thanks -- Tallyho ! ]:8) -- Man loves little and often, woman much and rarely.
RE: [H] cable modem reset ?
I suspect the modem but have a friend or two having the same bug and they are using new Motorola modems. re booting the router has no affect, have to re boot the modem. think I'll just fork out $60 and get the new 2.0 standard thanks At 11:25 AM 5/31/2005, Bill Poked the stick with: > > anywhere from none to 4 or 5 times a day I have to reboot the modem to re > establish WAN connection, COX claims not them. > > could my modem be going south ? is a best data DOCSIS 1.0 so a upgrade would > not piss me off to much > thanks > fp > > > -- > Tallyho ! ]:8) > -- > What is a lie but the truth in drag? > I'm on Cox also, in the Las Vegas area.. Re: [H] cable modem reset ?
can swap out the router = I MEANT MODEM. Once your sure the router I MEANT MODEM. I shouldn't be allowed to do anything until the caffeine reaches a certain level in my brain! m
Re: [H] cable modem reset ?
Could you possibly trade it with a friend to see what happens? Re: [H] cable modem reset ?
I'm not in your area, Arizona isn't it?but I'm not far away here in Santa Barbara so we are probably using the same COX system. I can tell you that I never have connection issues with COX, and I have been a subscriber since 99. So if it were happening here, I would check my physical cable first, how is the TV? you could try a digital signal boosterbut 50 bucks and if that were OK I would start looking at my networking components. You could help isolate it by hooking up a PC directly to the modem, instead of going through the router. If you don't loose your connection in 24, or the usual time period, then it is unlikely that it is your modem. But if it fails again you can swap out the router. Once your sure the router is OK you can start adding components back in and see what happens. It is a tedious task no matter how you go about it. Fortunately Cable Modems are cheap now. Good luck!
