We have the Roomba 980.  Have had it for about 6-7 months now.  We are
liking it pretty well.  We have a mix of hardwood/rugs/carpet/tile.  It does
well on all of the floor types.  We have almost 2700 square feet and it
takes it all day to cover everything.  That is with the wall setting on (it
goes along the walls also).  Not the quietest device though.

It is fun to watch.  I catch myself following it around some times to see
how it figures out various obstacles.

As long as you get the model that's for pets/pet hair. There are a bunch of
different ones. I've researched a little myself but haven't got one yet.
