[H] Drive Cleanup Accounting for space
Copy Command prompt to the desktop. Right click – properties. Use: %SystemRoot%\System32\cmd.exe /c Cleanmgr /sageset:65535&Cleanmgr /sagerun:65535 In Target box. Will give every option on what to clean. To use run as administrator. HTH, Al
Re: [H] Drive Cleanup Accounting for space
Nice. Some of us are typing challenged, so the desktop icon is easier. Whatever works. 😊 From: Joshua MacCraw Win 7 is simple as pasting "cmd.exe /c Cleanmgr /sageset:65535&Cleanmgr /sagerun:65535" into search, ctrl-shift-enter to launch elevated.

I stupidly did the Creators update last April and seance then I haven't been able to get any MS updates or even download apps from the windows store. Other programs have no problem updating. I had the same problem on another laptop. I solved that problem by restoring a backup that was pre creators update. I decided to do the same thing with the Edge. I did a restore with Acronis and it won't boot. I couldn't figure out why and, eventually I figured something must be corrupt in the boot sector so I did a wipe of the entire drive with Kill disk and, then a Acronis restore but same problem. Diagnostics report that the drive is locked which is why I can't fix it. How can I fix this? I need to get this laptop up and, running and I am prepared to buy another drive if need be. Thanks.

Re: [H] Android Tablet Recommendation
I settled on the Nexus 10 for $100 on fleaBay. Rooted and flashed: Lineage OS 13 (lineage-13.0-20170617-nightly-manta-signed); Open GApps Micro (open_gapps-arm-6.0-micro-20170621); and TWRP Recovery (TWRP 3.0.2-0.) I found builds of Nougat for it but there are still some issues, like the camera doesn’t work. At the time all I needed was phone and GPS; for my 1200 mile bicycle trip. It was the cheapest way to go; and purchased from Wally World. Bottom of the line Nokia, T-Mobile unlimited data and 100 minutes for $30/month; still have that good deal. (still have that phone in mint condition) Trip: Jacksonville FL to Copperas Cove TX http://imageshack.com/a/img905/5278/2Wfych.jpg http://imageshack.com/a/img908/9174/4lfHTY.jpg http://imageshack.com/a/img905/333/iLXt6V.jpg Camped the whole way, Oct’14 - Jan ’15, only three nights in motels. Coldest morning, 14° F. Getting out of the warm bag that morning to make coffee and oatmeal was an exercise in determination. I did this trip for fun and adventure. Riding in the rain was too little fun and too much adventure. Hunkered down for rain. http://imageshack.com/a/img905/9841/QwKsOF.jpg But I digress… Having been a computer ̶j̶u̶n̶k̶y̶ enthusiast since 1967, I’ve seen’em all come and go, so I’m not a fanboi; never met a computer I didn’t like. At long last curiosity got me and I wanted to see what the world of Android was about. I’m impressed at the scale of that world. Spend many hours reading websites, forums, whatever; one thing leading to another. So much to take in. The Nexus I picked up on fleaBay has screen issues: http://imageshack.com/a/img924/7136/CvsZCd.png http://imageshack.com/a/img922/9270/MpvmKb.png So I got a refund and ordered a Certified Refurbished unit through Amazon. Seller said to keep the bad unit, so I’ll have one to hack the sh!t out of. The only downside so far is the Netflix app won’t run on a rooted/unlocked Android setup. Found and tried several builds of the Netflix app claimed to work but no joy. Found this this morning: https://android.gadgethacks.com/how-to/make-netflix-android-pay-work-your-rooted-device-with-magisk-0177578/ Since the Amazon unit will come with 4.XX, I may just try it before doing anything else. Or I may upgrade it to 5.XX (last stock image) and try to get the bad unit to run Netflix. Next week I’ll want to do something totally different. Anyway, I see many hours ahead, lost to the new (to me) world of Android. Thanks for reading Al E. Gator

Re: [H] Follow UP>>> is there a way to stop creators update
I’ve been lucky. Before creators update, I was stuck in update hell. One update would not install no matter what ‘fix’ I found online. Every two days it would go through the cycle of trying to update, failing and having to undo the update. I would have left windows forever but I couldn’t find a way to get around secure boot on my tablet. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA4TX5RB6372&cm_re=irulu-_-0EJ-007E-000V6-_-Product Which I got on sale a few years ago and has been a great little machine. Creators update finally fixed the problem. If/when I figure a way to boot Linux on it, it’s goodbye windows. al

Re: [H] Android Tablet Recommendation
The Nexus 10 has screen issues after playing movies for a couple of hours. The bottom of the screen would pixilate, freeze, turn odd colors. I got a refund from the seller and was told to not bother returning it. It does much better with a small fan running behind it; 12V case fan running on 5V, very quiet. Bought a Certified Refurbished Nexus 10 off Amazon, same problem right out of the box. Sent it back, got refund. So I have the original Nexus I bought to play with for free. Been flashing all the latest ROMs. Netflix app will not run on anything but stock ROMs; tried all the workarounds, but no joy.
