[ha-Safran]: Good news about my book

2004-09-29 Thread Weisbarth, Bracha
Dear colleagues, my publisher, Mazo Publishers, informed me
that he submitted my book To Live and Fight Another Day: The Story of a
Jewish Partisan Boy to the Koret Foundation book award, and he is
considering having the book translated into Hebrew. Also, a play based on
the book has been written by the Playwright Barbara Wind. We hope that it
will be produced. It is basically geared for young adults. If you want to
read the reviews about my book go to the AJL Newsletter (June 2004) and the
Book World (Spring 2004).

[ha-Safran]: Florida: West Coast ....Longboat Key Temple Beth Israel

2004-09-29 Thread MDM100225
Thanks for your concern...we were very luck tho feel very sorry for those
that suffered in all our hurricane mishaps. Winds of 50miles or more with
Jeanne and lots of rain but no damage to our Temple...Services went on as
usual and all is well. I think all is well with the Jewish Libraries in
Sarasota...

[ha-Safran]: Does Jewish Art Exist? -- citation needed

2004-09-29 Thread Paul Hamburg
I am looking for the complete citation for the article Ha-'im kayemet
omanut yehudit? by Bezalel Narkiss. The xeroxed copy I found in my files
does not include a citation. My only clue is the pagination -- pp. 31-40.

Re: [ha-Safran]: Does Jewish Art Exist? -- citation needed

2004-09-29 Thread Yossi Galron
Paul,
A short google search found that the article was published in 1970 in the
journal Be-ad ve-neged, page 35-52.

http://207.232.9.131/tochniyot_limudim/sifrut/asi70004.htm
(see the bottom of the page)
I don't have this title in my library, so I can not verify it. (It does not
appear in RAMBI or IHP)

The resources listed for details on the persecution of homosexuals during
the Holocaust are all noteworthy. Gad Beck who is Jewish, gay and a
Holocaust survivor has been making many presentations in the last decade.
The Holocaust Museum in Washington DC has a small section on this unique
aspect of the Holocaust. In 1983 I wrote a paper and newspaper article on
this issue and if anyone would like a copy, contact me.
