[ha-Safran] tomorrow: Mame-Loshn book party in NYC at the Forward

2014-07-14 Thread Amanda Seigel
Dear Safranim,

I just wanted to remind you about the event tomorrow (Tuesday,
7/15/14) celebrating the publication of Nahum Stutchkoff's
Mame-Loshn, edited by Leyzer Burko.
Mame-Loshn is a collection of radio episodes, published in book form for the
first time, where the great Yiddish linguist and radio personality
Nahum Stutchkoff explains Yiddish idioms and expressions on WEVD radio
in New York. This material comes from archives in the Dorot Jewish
Division, which has a substantial collection of Stutchkoff's work, as
described in Judaica Librarianship, vol. 16/17:

[ha-Safran] Israeli poetry

2014-07-14 Thread Susan Kusel
Hello all,
Our emeritus rabbi has a specific request and I knew that this group would
be able to come up with just the book he is looking for.

He would like an anthology of Israeli poetry- specifically written by Israeli
poets- available in both English and Hebrew. He is looking for a comprehensive
collection of major poetic works... multiple volumes are fine. He is looking
for poets from Bialik to the present.

Thank you for any leads on this request.
-Susan

Dear Safraniyot and Safranim,

In the past I've used Ocker Trapp for binding journals. Does anyone in
the New York area have binderies they recommend?

Many thanks,
