this book.  I couldn’t find it on Amazon… because I had the spelling
wrong!  (A rookie mistake, but easily corrected once I figured that out,
and now I have a copy en route.)

Various aspects of Medieval Jewish Philosophy still await exploration. One of 
them is late medieval thought in Byzantium. This book analyzes traditional 
topics like divine attributes, prophecy and psychology as well as unique 
phenomenon of the Byzantine area like the hesychastic polemics . The book 
covers also topics like Jewish Byzantine preaching, debates with Karaite 
theology and the thought of important figures such as Shemaria from Crete and 
Juda Mosconi.

Professor Dov Schwartz was Dean of the faculty of Humanities at Bar Ilan 
university. Currently he is the head of the Interdisciplinary unit there. He 
wrote many books and articles on Jewish philosophy.
Prof. Schwartz received the EMET Prize for Art, Science and Culture in 2015.
