Here is the text of the e-mail blast I sent out to first-time attendees. Please contact me at your earliest convenience if you are interested in either being a mentor or mentee.
Welcome, first-timers to the annual AJL Conference! As you have probably noticed, there is a Mentor Mingle scheduled for Sunday from 8:30PM to 11PM. Please come and meet fellow first-timers to exchange ideas, business cards and simply schmooze. For those of you who express interest in being paired, this will be the primary venue for meeting with your conference mentor. Please contact me at your earliest convenience to make the necessary arrangements. (Note: Mentorships are also available for the coming academic year.) This will be a relaxed, casual session where people can organize their thoughts as well as plan for a meaningful learning experience. Door prizes will be awarded for those who attend. Looking forward to seeing you all in a few weeks!
