Ilan shalom,

some of the items to an up-and-coming Israel/Judaic Studies program in

description of the items is provided below. Based on your recent contacts,
can you suggest, in priority order, which of
the several Chinese programs would benefit most from this bequest? Thanks,
Jonathan
Goldstein.

An old Jewish Encyclopedia; I would have to tape up the bindings.
A good condition Encyclopedia Britannica with Micropedia.
A copy of four volumes, Finkelstein, The Jews.
Three volumes of Solomon Schechter Studies.

The Jewish Encyclopedia is available online, as is the Encyclopedia
Brittanica (the
Micropedia edition). In addition, there are some Hholocaust books; a good
collection of
science fiction especially Asimov; a 12” small print regular Talmud,; a a
set of the
Emory University Witness to the Holocaust pamphlets; and probably the full
Soncino
Talmud and most books by Rabbi David Blumenthal. There are also all sorts
of books in my
office that have accumulated over the years and I could cull those as well.

Thanks as always for whatever you can advise,

[ha-Safran] Jewish Chronicle of London

2015-03-20 Thread Peter Stern
Hello.

One of my professors is eager to get access to The Jewish Chronicle of
London's historical backfile online. I've contacted London, asking them if
they support institutional accounts, as opposed to individual ones.
Meanwhile, I wanted to ask the collective wisdom whether any other
institution has tried this.

Incidentally, we do have the Jewish Chronicle of London on microfilm, but
the professor wants to do searching by name.

Thanks for any help anyone can give me.
