I've just uploaded a new version of dataenc to hackage[1]. It contains a large change to the API. The old, rather simplistic, lazy API has been removed. It has been replaced by an API based on incremental encoding/decoding. This should make the library easier to use together with left-fold enumerators such as enumerator[2] and iteratee[3].
