There has been some discussion on this topic.
1.3 is waiting on three items.
1) Basic Hibernate 3 support(I have done that now).
2) JDK 5 support
3) J2EE 1.4 support
There might be a 1.2.3 release to get some of the new features out now
while items such as JDK 5 are completed.
There is no formal date as yet but it would not be to far away.
