UNDILAH PAS DAN BARISAN ALTERNATIF
~~~
Menjadi satu strategi perang pihak Taliban ialah melancarkan serangan
gerila ke atas tentera Amerika di Afghanistan. Sekarang ini dilapor-
kan tentera Amerika di sana masih menghadapi tentangan sengit dan
bilangan tentera terpaksa ditambah. Dilaporkan juga sokongan rakyat
Afghanistan semakin bertambah terhadap gerakan Taliban. Di Iraq,
Amerika ditentang, di Afghanistaan juga Amerika masih diperangi.
Acting on a written order from Taliban leader Mullah Mohamed Omar,
Dadullah declared Jihad against the U.S. forces, reported
IslamOnline.net correspondent.
There are thousands of U.S. troops in Afghanistan searching for Osama
bin Laden and members of his Al-Qaeda network, allegedly charged by
Washington of perpetrating the September 11 attacks on the United
States.
According to government sources here, some 3000 U.S. soldiers are
joining the attack on the Taliban fighters. While a spokesman for the
American forces in Bagram air base said Tuesday, April 1, that 800
soldiers were sent Monday to reinforced troops in the mountainous area
30 kilometer to the north of Kandahar. Twenty Taliban fighters were
killed in battles with the joint forces, the spokesman said, adding
that two American soldiers were killed in ambush during the attacks in
Oruzgan.
He asserted that U.S. warplanes and helicopters are still shelling
Taliban positions in the area. But Afghan sources said Taliban
fighters are putting up stiff resistance to the U.S. attacks. Taliban
Leaders Discuss Activating Resistance.
Meanwhile, a number of Taliban leaders, including health and aviation
ministers Mullah Mohammed Abbas and Mullah Mohammed Mansour met in
an area on the borders with Pakistan to discuss activating resistance
against American forces and instigating the Afghan people against the
foreign troops and the proxy Afghan government, the Pakistani Wahda
newspaper reported on Monday quoting well-informed sources.
According to the sources, Taliban is restoring popularity in the
country, especially after the failure of President Hamid Karzais
government to maintain security and provide job opportunities in the
war-torn county.
On Monday, former Taliban trade minister Mullah Abdul Razzaq was
among some 40 Taliban suspects arrested in joint Afghan-U.S. military
raids on Kandahar, police said.
