[hlds] Help! Server uses different class table but server AND client updated
Hi folks, Apologies if this is a bit of a n00b question - I am, admittedly, n00b to game server hosting. I took over a server run by a company we were hosted with. The server was offline for about a week and a valve update happened in that time. I have got the server online, tried to run CS:S and the client could not connect. I ran this to do an update: D:\Home\Updatetool\HldsUpdateTool.exe -command update -game counter-strike source -dir d:\cphome\ biatch\source\cstrike The client is up to date also I believe as I ran it on a different box that had been offline for a little while and it did a little update. Unfortunately, I am getting server uses different class table now, which I understand means the server and client are on different versions?? IS there anything else I need to update or anything anyone can suggest? Cheers, Tef ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds
[hlds] VAC2 questions.
Is it active now and banning? When can we expect to have it loaded by default on HL1 servers? Can we get a hint if it is working well, from valve? Numbers of bans/detections by now? -Alex ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds
Re: [hlds] VAC2 questions.
Is it active now and banning? Yes, have a look at your logs When can we expect to have it loaded by default on HL1 servers? The stickies in steampowered will tell you that they are not telling people dates, however you will probably find that Alfred will give a 'server will needed to be updated' heads-up about it 2-4 hours before it comes. Can we get a hint if it is working well, from valve? Numbers of bans/detections by now? Again the stickies say this won't be disclosed. However I can tell you that about 20 out of 1,000 people on my server since the update haven't been let in since VAC2 went live. And you can make the presumption that a lot of them have stopped trying to get into secure servers now they are banned so won't show up in many logs. Thanks for the reply. How does the log entity look like when someone is not allowed to enter or get banned while on our servers? -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Graham Robinson Sent: 13. juli 2005 10:51 To: hlds@list.valvesoftware.com Subject: Re: [hlds] VAC2 questions. [hlds] New query, tool needs fixing
Hello, We run an irc bot made from ruby language. Now the creator of the bot has moved back to newzealand and wont be able to update the old code to the new one. Does any one here understands the changes, and is willing to take a quick look if they can adjust the code? 7/09/2005 - 15:02:02: VipeR011726STEAM_0:0:6653567 disconnected (reason VAC banned from secure server) You will never see a log entry at the time they were spotted with a cheat as it is delayed. As always, thanks for the heads up. The scaling thing is a nice fix, and I think will make the new models and animations much more accepted and popular... Also, thanks for the update on CPU usage. Re: [hlds] Counter-Strike: Source update
My updates are getting up to: Checking/Installing 'Base Source Shared Sounds' version 3 ... then stalling - on one box is waited maybe 30 mins then completed, but others after about 5 minutes I'm getting Connection Reset, WinSock Error 10054 Connection reset by peer. Doh. Pity the dedicated server needs the sound files :) -- david Original Message From: Alfred Reynolds [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: hlds@list.valvesoftware.com; hlds_linux@list.valvesoftware.com; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, July 14, 2005 10:16 AM Subject: [hlds] Counter-Strike: Source update We have released an update to Counter-Strike: Source.
