I hope that Steam would allow as many players as the server wanted, maxed at
128. This would allow the "Ub3r" servers to host HUGE games, but special
maps would be needed...

The LoA has a forum.

http://cssadmins.jsyte.com

even if you do not support this movement, I don't believe that the HLDS
mailing board is the proper place to argue, take up any issues with our
staff there. If you do support the movement, you can apply to have your
server host us, or apply to become a league admin.

Now I must ask, who are the ones who are willing to become "Global" admins.
The ones who are willing
to prowl the CS:S Servers and keep them safe. I have already been told by
quite a few servers that they
are willing to allow this. But I can't help them yet. If you are willing to
be an admin on a number of servers.
Email me offlist, [EMAIL PROTECTED], I'll give you details on where to
go from there.

I wouldn't call it doomsday, and this is not for me. I already have asked 2
server farms(working on third) and they both said that they would be willing
to commision the idea on their servers. PCGamers is enstating more
admins(however many join the movement) onto their severs. I am not trying to

would really appreciate it if you joined the effort to fight off hackers.

My plan is to form a league of admins, so to speak. These admins would be
given all powers on all servers that agree to host us. This would give the
nonHackers the upperhand on many servers, 2 server farms have agreed with me
on this. I simply cannot do it all alone. If there are people who are
willing to spend time to bring CounterStrike back to life, to breath life
into a dying game, I'm sure there will be many servers that will back you
once they catch on to our plan. So please, donate some time, save a virtual
life or two. Just pitch in, become admin, and make Counter Strikes many
servers safer.

[hlds] CS:S Admins, a call to arms!

Counter Strike,

The most played online mod, EVER. And, I think its safe to say that its also
the most hacked game, EVER.
It's now the time to save this game from the dark pit of which it has fallen
into. Valve made Half-Life and placed
trust in individuals to control servers. Well, it seems that individuals are
not enough. This is a call to arms for
all CS:S Admins and Hosts, and rCons. It was our job to protect the servers,
and we clearly have not been
doing our job. Now, even hacker-friendly servers exist! This is the call for
all of the CS:S and CS Admins to
rally to fight off this menace! I know this may seem a little off topic for
this list, but hey! We are the hosts,
admins, and the players. It's time for us to rise up and fight off the
pestilence that has manifested within
our ranks.

Now,
Is the time.

Join the cause!

My goal is to be able to create servers that are safe for the people who
want to have fun, but not at other's expence.

It's a possibility, my Mani Mod server is starting not to kick people and it
will let them change names, the internet is a home cable connection. The
nework's Gigabit so I doubt that I'm losing packets or having collisions in
the network. If someone would like to connect to my sever, I'll leave it up
all day playing CS:S. The IP is
69.167.203.112:27015<http://69.167.203.112:27015>.
The strange thing is that I, myself, am never kicked. After about 1 minute
it should just "boot" you, saying that the client disconnected.

Re: [hlds] cs:s is full of cheaters

[ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ]
It's time for someone to start another CS(or CSS) league. I think we, most
of us being admins, should be leading the charge( I would be happy to donate
my server to this cause); CAL is turning corrupt, therefore, something new
is needed. Perhaps the CSL(Counter Strike League) or something where we, the
admins, are the admins. I would like to have a system that is not based on
numbers from PsycoStats or some other stats program, but on an admin's
reccomendation. Maybe we could have the servers "sponcor" a player (ie:
Yrach.com:[J-Mod]Nali) or something, but just keep trust in server admins
and not in CAL's hacker dominated staff.

[hlds] Random Kicking, but not for me

2005-09-28 Thread Zachary Doherty

[ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ]
On my listen server(sorry ded server guys, but I need help) everyone gets
kicked after about 1 minute of playing. It tells me that "Client
Disconnected"
I'm not kicking them and I'm the only admin logged in. This is on my CS:S,
CS:CZ, HL2DM, and CS servers. All of which use AMXX or Mani Admin Plugin.
Is there something that I'm doing wrong? Everything is default except sv_lan
which is set to 0 always. This also happens in Garry's Mod.

Re: [hlds] Status of VAC2 Beta

2005-06-13 Thread Zachary Doherty
I can't join any of the VAC servers, It will get to Verifying and
Downloading Resources and it will download Security Module and freeze
up for a second and then say Error about Cannot verify, any ideas?
This never happened on VAC 1

Re: [hlds] Invalid STEAM UserID Ticket

2005-06-08 Thread Zachary Doherty
Erm, That doesn't seem to work either...
I'm using a Linksys Workgroup Switch
which is a Model EZXS55W
and that is connected to a Router which
is set up for port forwarding to my IP(which
is also the server's!)
The Router is a BEFSR41 v. 2
Both Linksys, but the switch says
"Cisco Systems" on it but is branded
with the Teal Linksys Type on it's
dorsal vent.
